Wouldn't work on me ......I rarely run any class that does not include Tac mask and Jug Vest. I don't get players who run the marathon or extreme conditioning the maps are small enough as it is and they are littered with claymores' betties and shocks.

Exactly right, If i equip the Remmy I expect to get easy kills within buildings and in tight situations so I play my game based on how its going to turn out best for me. I'm not going to run out into the open with a shotty and try and 'test its range'.

Equip over kill and have the best of both worlds..... short and long range.

You have to remember that they are not very good at long range.

Is it me or is every single one of these Anti Shotgun threads posted by a SMG user?

Perfectly fair, ive been annoyed by shottys killing me in one hit before swarms (the last few days it seems there has been massive increase in the use of shottys) But if you go into their range its your fault, and the KSG has plenty of bad things so you cant complain about the range on that

If you know where the guy is camping and you are on a high killstreak then the best tactic is to AVOID that player

This is what you should do. I always avoid long range pathways when i know there is a sniper at the end, and avoid going into houses where i know someone has a 870. Its your own fault if you fall victim to these specialised weapons, you should be telling your self to play smarter, not complaining about the weapons.

I run a pistol-only class for certain maps and use the Tac .45 or Five Seven (I hate the spammers' pistols: B23R and Kap-40) and only play Hardcore. If I posted a thread up every time I got killed by someone… well, this would be a busy board.

I love them. In fact I have a class specifically set up which includes 2 of these type weapons. Overkill with a shotgun and sniper rifle. Its a great set up and you should try it. Especially with a Guardian!

So even though the R870, the best of the shottys, is statistically inferior to pretty much every other CoDs best shotgun, it still needs to be nerfed? Sorry, no.

Oh, and comparing a game to real life doesn't validate your point any; If you have experienced a gunfight in real life, you'd know that you dont respawn when someone puts 3 bullets in your face. See?

Pro tip - shotgun range gunfights should be avoided as a general rule of thumb, just in case they have a shotty. If someone wants to sit in a corner with FJ, sod it, let em. Call it out to your team and let everyone avoid them so they either have a real boring game or get up and move.

I agree, i suppose i didnt make it clear that i think 3arc made shotguns so good, expecting people to rush with them, but people camp with them and even when rushing, its easy to do well with them. COD4 hit the nail on the head. M1014 wasnt OP for semi auto W1200 had good pump time, bullet spread the lot!

My suggestion to 3arc would be to make the pump slower and make dexterity or lightweight do shotgun pumps at the current speed because that takes up valuable perk slots which i think would make shotgunning more 'fightable'

for those saying its fine because its realistic. If you have experienced use with a shotgun in real life you would know that when you fire it(unless sawed off) the lead pellets dont go everywhere, infact they go in quite a straight line, so dont try that one.

shotguns work at close rnage. the only reason tehy are being used for camping is corner camping spots in rooms are usualy close range, making shotguns ideal.

but they arnt hard to deal with. OHK weapons have much more restriction than other weapons, only issue is 3arch got rid of some of those restrictions or lessened them greatly. for shotguns remington and KSG lost alot of their high risk/high reward gameplay, low pump speed will fix that some. there is no all or nothing shotgun, liky the rangers in MW2 or olympia in BO. the S12 and 4burst are fine power wise, they should be weaker and outguned at shorter ranges, but lack the high risk if you screw up.

snipers need LMG ADS time. then they will be fine.

the KSG and remington should be closer to teh above. hit, win, miss dead.

the other 2 should lack killing ability giving the other player more time to kill you.

I see nothing wrong with shotguns being good for close quarters. Same with pistols.
