The best compliment I ever got and this was from an 8 year old was, " Your big sister is so hot and she rox at KILLZONE, I'm going to marry her when I grow up"
So my fellow forum members, there is still hope

Does this 8yr old realise that he has to step in line behind a lot of others

It is good to hear that there is hope for the younger generation.
-I think that if we had the technologies of today back when we were growing up (Multiplayer over the internet with headsets) we would probably have been as annoying as the kids online these days...

"Perfect Dark" took it to a new level from Golden eye! Could imagine having a 'laptop gun' in MW3??? Put it on the ceiling, the wall etc. People would loose there minds for sure!!!!!!

I got my wife to play Black Ops zombies with me. It lasted about 10min, but was absolute hilarity. I nearly pissed myself laughing at her yelling at the screen because she couldn't stop looking at the ceiling and floors.

ok, when I was a little gurl I always wanted to beat the boys, swimming, running, soccer. Being a gurl I don't have to mention how long I have been playing computer games tooo video games. All I know fo sure, I love it and the industry. So much so I worked and worked at getting my dream job in the industry. I have had the 1 handle since the PSN was invented, only a few know what that is, and in those days they were not like the handles you see today. So its pretty boring and short, I took it from my email subject box. So when people recieved an email from me they knew who the email was from and allowed it past firewalls and such.

Recently a friend gave those 3 little initials a name, what they stood for after years of gaming with me. So thats what I tell people now, it's easier than the email truth.

I agree about younger gamers, but they can be turned into young gentlemen. I have my kid brothers Clan come over for PS3 nights. I have a few seperate internet connections at home for work so they bring there PS3's and off we go.

I'm an old guy, 34, with kids in elementary school. I plan on gaming for years to come. The way I see it, when I'm too old to play basketball, soccer, whatever with my kids; it will be nice to still own the $#!% out of them on video games. I agree with many others who have posted, that I have no intention of putting the controller down until I can't hold it or dementia sets in and I think it's a sandwich.

Awesome! Someone else who's first gaming experience was with a Commadore 64! I had Richard Petty's Talledega; a horrible game but I still played for hours. Loved racing games for years until GoldenEye changed my world.

I plugged in the NES yesterday after getting offline and had a blast!! No duckhunt though b/c my newer tv, but I got pretty far on Contra! I was proud and I didn't use the cheat.

1st time in front of a video game would have been around 1978ish (maybe earlier). It was an early incarnation of Pong. I was hooked.

1st system owned: Coleco Vision (Venture was a great game, and I owned Donky Kong)

For those of you too young to know, Donky Kong is the 1st "Mario" game.

I owned the NES, SNES, and N64. Borrowed a PS1, owned a PS2 and PS3. I also owned a hacked XBOX.

I have played on: AppleII, Commodore vic20 and 64(?), Intellivision, Atari2600 and it's successor (name escapes me)

(side note: My SNES and Coleco vision still work and are at my Brother-in-law's place and he still plays them here and there. He owns a PS2... he is 41 years old)

I used to play a lot of PC games until I found Diablo2. I played that for 10 years (I had a Necromancer that could easily take down everything in the game, I was always near the top of the ladder every season; I built one of the 1st defensive dueling sorcs. After no other sorc could beat me, people built ones themselves.. my CS Amazon could beat any Barb or Zealot)

I have been gaming all my life, and will continue to press on. I play and continue to play for the comradery and experience of meeting new people around the world.

I, as well as others, find the ignorance of younger players quite amusing (by ignorance, I mean the fact that they have no idea how long gaming and gamers have been around, and that they as well will never out grow it). It is a part of life, until something better comes along.
