However I could careless about my KD, I want to do good but I play to win and much more satisfied wih winning. Now if I'm playing TDM then I have to care about my KD somewhat because I don't want my team to lose, but if I go 30-3 and lose I'm not satisfied. I play mostly Demo, plenty of times I've put myself in the position of dying if it means we'll win.

Now during clan ops all I care about is getting that gold or hopefully champion badge, I don't care where I place. I have a level 34 clan with 1 maybe 2 people (24 total) with a 2+ KD, most of which are 1.5-, and so far I've say we've been pretty successful. My clan doesn't have a KD requirement, I played with people that have high KDs but are terrible teammates, then I've played with people that have lower KDs that I enjoyed playing with more and actually won more games with. My KD is only 1.00, The player I enjoy playing with the most only has a KD of 0.65 but it's a lot of fun to play with him and we win more together.

COD is a video game you play to have fun. I have a 2.15 K/D, do I care? No, I wouldnt care even if it was .10. All I want to do is rush and gather as many kills possible in the shortest amount of time with a few buddys. Unless your getting paid enough money to live off that high K/D of yours, it means absolutly nothing. I usually play solo SnD and Ground war and the only thing I care about is having fun and rushing constantly.

He told me that when going into robotic surgery they ASK if you have video game experience. Apparently there is a few studies (main one fom Duke) that say surgeons with heavy previous video game experience have a 40% quicker learning curve then those without gaming experience. These studies are still being disputed though, but hey it's something.

While in the end they showed that both surgeons would be on par, those with gaming experience learned much quicker.

Likewise when designing a UAV with a gun attatched, one of the armed forces used a modified Xbox 360 controller to control it. Their stated mindset was to make the controls as easy to pick up and be proficient with as possible. So they said they used "something that most already knew how to use".

So when your mom said that playing video games would never amount to anything, you can prove her wrong now.

It really is just a reflection of who you are in the game, HOWEVER, your haters may have a higher kill/death ratio but--like you point out--it's not an ACCURATE measure of the opposing player's competency in getting the same kills during the actual gameplay where you're playing and actually killing people. So, if you are only running around using only bullets (okay, bullets and grenades, etc. (lethal equipment)) then you're making a valid point; in that, K:D ratio MAY fail to accurately reflect your opponent’s actual gameplay ability because it's also taking into account other ways (not just gun kills) that count towards kill/death--they get a kill streak of a predator missile or a sentry gun, for instance...

The caveat to that is that your haters will just up the ante and say it takes a lot of skill to shoot that missile, or place that sentry gun where it will do a lot of damage. Plus they had to actually "get the kills in order to get the kill streaks", ad nauseam...and so on and on the argument goes. I for one think K:D is cool. I use it to keep myself going. BTW, I only use the Specialist kill streak, if that matters to anybody in this thread.

We seem to regularly beat the 2+ k/d groups. That and SnD is usually our poison of choice. We don't sitrep or nubetoob so we usually have 1 person that is fodder to draw out the others. We also gladly die if it means they can't get to the bomb in time or just try to preoccupy them and not try for the kill if it keeps them away from the objective.

So in short. It only shows who did what in the time frame. Example: TDM, Player #1 is rushing and killing fast maybe geting 7 kills per minute then he would have a 700 SPM. But what if that player is also going 15-20 every game? It does not mean he is good, just that he killed 7 players per minute. Now if player #2 has a average of 200 SPM. It means he killd 2 players per minute. but maybe he played careful and went 15-2 every game helping out more than player 1.
