I played with a buddy in a some games last night and had a good time. It was nice not having to worry about air support. I used overkill as my second perk, which I hardly ever do, and had some good matches.

I hate to share this secret but everyone who reads this, know this:

"Hardly anyone plays barebones, and there aren't many good players playing"

hint hint for anyone looking to play and not worry about large clans / super campers / etc this is a place to go.

Havent had a go on barebones yet. Went to try it today but couldnt get into a game, not many on that game mode.

Will try again soon as possible cos i get fed up of all the air support on this game. Seems worst than all the other COD's put together.

Used to only get one or two heli's a game or pred missiles. Had a game earlier can't remember which game mode but after every air support there was another. i.e. Cobra went up then attack heli same time, straight after stray run and a pred or two. I think it spoils game a bit in excess like that.

I do relatively better in barebones (except for Domination) but I enjoy core games as well.

I noticed my KDR was a little poorer after switching to barebones from core, and I chalked it up to not playing for killstreaks. I tend to play a little more recklessly since death isn't as important. That especially holds true for domination, where getting killed a few times while capping isn't feeding an enemy killstreak.

In core, when I have an attack heli up and my next killstreak is a reaper, I tend to play it a little safer until those last couple of kills rack up. It doesn't have to mean camping, but you ADS or go prone around corners, that kind of thing, instead of just running full Leroy at the enemy.

I find i get absoloutely tanked when i play mercenary. I dont know why!! I seem to play better in the core modes

I just discovered Mecenary which I love. My clan is obessed with S&D and I hate that game mode. You can't really find a normal game mode without going up against and organized clan. So Mercenary gives me the most fun when playing solo

Yeah game play is alot smoother 2nd day of playing....trues hit maker shots, not half a magazine to drop enemy anymore can use 2nd tear perks more not having to worry to much about detection from uav's come on join the fun at last.

Barebones is so much more relaxing game mode I have found that with out the kill streaks there seems to be a lot less lag, along with less ppl crying about what gun you are using in game. They still cry that you might have been camping.

Barbones is something that the community begged for since perks was installed in the CoD franchise. But it's the least popular as far as number people on the playlist. I kind of find those numbers weird seeing IW and Treyarch community was begging for barebones in the CoD 4 and WaW days.

I have never played Barebones till tonight, after reading your post I figured it was time to give it a try, always fancied but never tried. Dom/KC/TDM are my fav modes so an extra bonus, a nice change as I use specialist anyway so no loss to me. It is nice to capture the flags/tags without worrying about the killstreaks overhead.

Yeah for now I'll give it a go, not too many players but have had full lobbies tonight.

I was as well the first time I tried barebones, what no worring about UAV's, bombers, bad-as-s- flying drones and death planes.

I have tried to get a MOAB in barebones but i alway fail. I have 6 in normal TDM but i always die running out to pick up a weapon in barebones. I get to about 11-15 kills pick up an enemy weapon then die. Usually because it un silenced or its a sniper rifle lol

Amazing difference no more pavelow and ac130 assualt killstreak muppet campers, just good old school fire fights just needs more players....go on just have a go im hooked.
