Explain how my mate who steals wireless Internet from his neighbors to play has gotten over 50 moabs.You can have all the right settings and super fast Speed and a good ping, you will still get fcked as host and by laggy 3 bar players on mw3.

OP, I think you need to realize that we have been playing on "Crappy" copper core cable for many, many years, and never had problems until this game. Well, Black Ops had it's fair share of connection problems as well.

From experience COD 2, COD 4, WAW, and MW2 never had problems like the last two installments of COD have. I would say MW2 hit detection was the best.

Also realize that turbo or power boost, really has no effect on the game, as they are increasing bandwidth. Bandwidth has absolutely nothing to do with ping, which is what is important.

This game just doesn't work properly online.

I have no where near the laggy crap that I used to. Yes some disgusting moments but nothing like before.

My router says 0.0548 megabits per second upstream even less downstream. The greater upstream surprised me. Maybe I was host.

yup same here i get about 30dl and 1.8-2 up cat6 also there is no such thing as no lag in this piece of **** excuse of a game its the matchmaking the lag comp **** since 1.14 my connection hasnt been above red and well OBVIOUSLY it aint MY connection its the ******* game!

If it's our internet then why is it that my friend down the street can play together with his brother who's on an entirely different PS3 and not have problems yet when I'm on my PS3 being the only person in the house online I have issues.

Ok so i took your advice and did step 3, system is running faster and have had 3 good mostly lag free games, still a little lag and the odd stutter but certainly better than before, lets just see if it lasts...

If it is the ISP, why would other games run fine, and some not run? I seriously doubt that MW3 pushed the boundaries of bandwidth limitations and all of the sudden this game has become unplayable...

And if that was the case... why in the world would a game developer build a game so that 95% of the people in the world would have to upgrade their bandwidth, and require a Fiber Optic line just to be able to play a $60 game - and not tell anyone lol?

first off dont confuse bandwidth for speed, secondly both of these especially virgin are the worst isps in the uk for gaming on

Bottom line is Activision's developers should be making a game that runs well for 95% of the community, not one that runs well for 5%. They expect us to buy their product then they have the responsibility for doing that. To ask the millions around the world to change their ISP to enable the game to run well is fundamentally wrong. W@W and MW2 were fine, Black Ops was poor, and MW3 is a joke when it comes to lag, and I have had the same provider throughout. As others have said, it's the game not us.

If I need a new ISP, they should stop making me host and chop for no reason constantly. There is something fundamentally wrong with this game and the balance between 4 and 3 bar players. If it's my ISP / connection, why does the game then run fine when not hosting and against other 4 bar / low ping players?

When is the last time some of you used your recovery menu on your console to clean up the fragmentation we are told doesnt happen? I do it about as often as on my PC, maybe thats why I run so smooth in all my games, including this one.

I know they tell us that people cant affect/hack our data but thats junk. Those of us that have REAL experioence in the computing world know this is BS. Try deleting your Game Update Data, if your on real fiber at 100 Mbps; it'll take you all of five minutes or less and that includes re-installation.

Id be willing to bet that this can cure a lot of those that replied up, if its not your ISP and the way they handle things. I started my fiber experience with a company that couldnt do it right so thats a possibility to. Once I switched to a well developed, reputable (and not just reputed by market standards) ISP Iv had nothing but joy no matter what Im playing/doing.

Either way, try both repairing file struture (option 3 I believe) AND repairing your system database (option 4)... this one sucks because it deletes all your playlists and theme settings... but the COD data changes everytime you play, so making sure its all in order can change everything.

As I said, I do this about once a month, if not twice (stopped keeping music on my PS3 as I cant play it in game). My nephew, laong with my brother in law, experienced some lagged play but it went away once I intorduced them to system maintenance. I hope you all can get going without lag, its annoying and makes you want to punch your PS3 right in its scuzzy chipset interface!!!

you appear to be one of the few lucky people that suffers no lag or very marginal lag, there are days i can get maybe 3 or 4 good minimal lag games in a row, then i pull host or the lag comes down like a hammer..

My internet connection is very good and it only happens when playing mw3, everything else runs at highspeed.

Its a grade A line according to the tests, 10ms ping, zero packet loss and zero jitter to local servers in my own country (Ireland), ping drifts out into the 20's and 30's the further east into europe i test.
