nope, the slow-mo shoes that he threw the frag into the wall, it bounced back and hit him, he tried to pick it up again and throw it... and blew himself up by accident.

With the added bonus that the dude who he was throwing it at in the first place flanked back around and got all blow'd up by said grenade that was intended for him in the first place.
