As I read your question, you want to know if you can use your pre-order bonus MW3 token to unlock an additional custom class; not be forced to use it to prestige to the next level. If that's what you're asking, then the answer is yes. Simply go into the prestige shop and choose the option to unlock an additional class.

You'll never be forced to prestige up; in fact, Activision wouldn't allow you to use the bonus token to prestige up another level even if you wanted to. Remember (pre-order bonuses aside), tokens are your reward(s) for playing through 80 levels and prestiging up. They unlock items for immediate use in your new prestige; since you re-start each one at level 1. You can't, for example though, complete 4th prestige, then turn right around and use the token you just earned to skip 5th prestige and instantly jump to 6th.

A few days after pre ordering Black Ops 2 you should get an Email with the code on it. Then go to www.callofduty.com/prestigetoken andthen enter the code. It should be available in MW3 a few hours later. If you have any problems contact the retailer you preordered from for help.

I was credited my Prestige Token within 8 hours. I'm not sure how the system knew which of my gaming consoles to credit the Prestige Token to, but it chose the right one. Maybe it chose by my email address, or what Elite account I was logged into at the time?

I registered my promo code and then registered my prestige token code and received A confromation that my token would be availably for use after 24 hr. but here it is going on day two and still on my mw3 states that I have 0 prestige tokens . when can i use mine ??? WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT IF I DONT GET IT !!!! STRESSIN ME OUT MAN........

You can use it after 24 hours. Some of my online 'friends' seemed to get it right away.

I think you can use it right away, but I'm not certain.

On a side note, they give you a Prestige token for pre-ordering Black Ops II, that seems naughty and unfair, but then MW3 is the whore of COD.
