The first 2 minutes were a waste of time. Use the time that was spent editing all of that to edit the clips together. Also never put anything less than a three piece in a montage. Single nades, single snipes, throwing knifes in the back, etc have no place in a montage. Any clip that needs to be fastwarded does not belong in a pub montage unless it is some type of ridiculous search clutch.

2 months on and only 500 views , it's not the greatest montage but it's better than some of the crap I've seen with thousands of views. What gives ?

You need a capture device such as a dazzle or a HD PVR which will record whatever you are doing on the PS or xbox.

1. Fair enough

2. I have to disagree, that sort of syncing can only really be done with sniper gameplays to which this was not. I thought the intro and outro were in tune with the content and the main body of play was used with the main body of music which is what I was trying to do.

3. Haven't I dealt with this already?? It is not something I can really improve on as I cannot quickscope for ****.

4. There were no transitions, I saved myself a lot of time by doing so but will be intergrating them in the future.

1. First 2 mins of the video is pointless you're trying to hard.

2. Music isn't sync with the gameplay.

3. Gameplay was bad.

4. Transition between clips were bad.

5. Lower the game sound or just have it off.

PS: You got potential just keep trying but if you follow those tips you will succeed.

Thank you, the reason I put it in was for a bit of variety and I'm not too fond of killstreak scenes in other vids myself.

Don't worry about this retarded little tween anyways. His videos are nothing but stupid spinning luck shots that take zero skill. They only show the 1 out of 500 shots that they make for their youtube montage. At least your kills were mostly skill based and not retarded 1080 spin shot no scopes across the map.

I thought it was good compared to what i've seen from other in the past

As said, intro was perhaps abit too long, you don't want to lose your viewers interest before the main bulk of the video starts

You said there was alot of throwing knives but again i think they were decent as some of them i wondered how you managed to time it and land it, for example one on mission, where you timed it so he ran into it

I wasn't a fan of watching the reaper/ac130, i know you got alot of kills with it and that's why you put it in (i'm guessing) but killstreaks are all same old, same old if you get me, whereas gun gameplay is more variant or allows more variance

I agree with maccabi. The cut scenes and panning the maps slowed the video down to the point where I actually got bored and turned it off a couple of minutes in. I'm sorry. It looks like lots of others liked your work though.

Thank you for the points, articulate and well put and definatly fall into into the constructive criticism category.When I said eff off I only meant that to those who would put me down because of my playing skill level, we all know how quick the community can be a insulting someone because they are not a 3+ KD

The grumpy old men intro is just something I got from flixpress.com, I am nowhere near skilled enough to create something from scratch and in fact wouldn't even know where to start.

The map panning was another piece to the opening scenes, to be honest I did not think of doing it with some action scenes as I wanted to keep them for later.

The cut scenes are intentional, I was looking to utilise the lines that were said at the start (the world as you knew it are gone, how far would you go to bring it back) by using the scenes to portray the games bad parts (final stand, camping and lag) for the first line with then the soap injury and then being brought back to life (as he was with a defib) and then going using the good footage to try to 'bring it back' Sorry if I don't explain it properly, it seems right in my head lol.

I will def take all the comments on board as making these vids is something I would like to try and get going so all help is greatfully recieved. Having watched a good few of the various editing contest vids and some of the various 'faze' clan vids I can see that I'm going to need a lot more ideas and practice the editing if I am going to get any better at it. Prob need new software too I think.

Once again, thanks and if anyone else has something to say I would be happy to hear it.

The intro was ok.. it was an ff the shelf downloaded thingt from somewhere right? not knocking that but your title then was a crap few words in a hiedous font which just highlighted the fact your intro wasnt your own work..

id try to keep your title in the same font or "style" as the intro it just looks better.

really didnt get the point of adding sp footage cut scenes

the panning accros the maps was a good idea, imo you should have specced the actual gameplay as you panned not just empty maps

there was some really good moments of really and cutting to the different scenes 2:30 in for example (and btw nice spot to shot from never knew about that)

it's obvious you spent alot of time on this and it does show so props, if i was you id take on board the comments everyone has mentioned and im pretty sure your next vid is going to be a killer.
