I might be wrong, but when someone talks about legal stuff, I think about suing only. I think this would be seen as a very extreme measure when talking about a Wii online shooter (trololol).

Now that I think about it, Isn't hopping technically illegal? SInce they're gaining access to someone's personal information? It's gonna be interesting to see if any legal action might be taken....

Everything you said here is true and I'm glad someone besides me on here knows what is going on. Let me elaborate some on the patching of the code itself. A gecko lets you have access to a RAM dump of the game. For those who don't know what this means, a RAM dump gives the user access to everything from the game that gets stored in RAM. Essentially, this gives them full access to the game code. Modifying this code is "hacking". There are ranges in the code that CAN NOT be searched through even with a gecko. The account hopper works by pulling a users login info that is stored on the server. Moving login info to these unsearchable ranges can and WILL permanently stop account hopping. I've been told this by Jester himself and many others. All it would take to stop account hopping is moving the location of our server-side login details. Login info is really easy to obtain. It contains a total of 10 characters. There is a 2 character "short line" and an 8 character "long line". This new account hopper works by sending someone an ally request and pushing the Home button. This stores the users login info to RAM so that all you have to do is sign out and sign back in. You will be signed in with the given users login info. This is actually faster than hopping accounts with a USB gecko. Please bump this post as well as Nintendont's. If you have any more questions I have not addressed feel free to message me. There's a new hack going around where people can log into your account using a thing called a "usb gecko" and all they need is your

profile's secret "login ID" to do it; which they can grab using your leaderboard rank. They can sign into your account using this exploit and can basically gain full control of it.

Pardon my french, but this hacking bullshit is getting ridiculous, why isn't the Wii team doing anything to rectify this?

EDIT: Hopping got worse now. They don't even need a gecko device anymore. The scumbags came up with a new hack called a "Proposal hopper". What they do is send the victim an ally reuqest and then they can gain control of your account that way. Here're more info:

The only way to counter it is to deny ally requests quickly. Also, if you have homebrew on your Wii, there's a new hack out that blocks the proposal hack. I'm not gonna post any links due to fear of being banned, but you'll find it if you search Google. These are only temporary fixes though. The anti hop hack only works when you're signed in, and the gecko hopper hack can't be stopped by anything. The only way to permanently stop account hopping is via a patch.

What they said isn't entirely true. I know from talking with Predator members that there are ranges not searchable with a gecko even. Moving the login info to these ranges WILL stop account hopping. I have heard this from Jester himself. I have had the same information told to me by many others. All it would take to stop account hopping is moving the address of login info. That's what upsets me is that this is fixable. I have personally told this very same thing to Activision and they said "We will look into this information." I think it would help a LOT if we had a way to talk to Treyarch directly and not have to go through Activision to do it.

That doesn't make much sense.

Also it was just that you directed your post to foxhound when you apparently know he's not a creator. You can curse out WiiAdmin as much as you want because it is their fault, but Foxhound can't exactly do much about it. He can report it, but it depends on WiiAdmin and the 3arc Wii team to actually fix this.

No people are complaining about oh its not his fault or hers fault but yeah it is the creators faukt i dont hack so therefore i have no codes to block my account from being hopped so yeah i am mad because i lose all my allies all my guns all my perks kd etc i know its just a game i dont play all the time but just to know that someone can just get rid of it all for no reason or because they want to look badass it gets me mad

ok they need that usb geico ;p but they need at least 2 codes to get your account if someone adds you and they are spamming you with them accept it then delete leave the lobby codeleakers is where all the hackers are getting the code which from what my friend said (hes a hacker hes been repromoteing everyone after they get hopped) is that the ally request code hop is out on code leakers so basically accept and delete the predator people and the other big hackers have the leaderboard one the in lobby oand then the ally code one anywho they are getting your loggin id from a 4 line code which is on codeleakers also so admins should do research and counter and patch it...............
