Seeing as Iw/sh still haven't fixed this yet ,although again they could have easily stopped it in it's tracks if they wanted too..

Figured as no one "offical" has i'll post a quick what to do thingymabob as people seem to like screwing over other people and all the "known" infections now are spread like this .

Don't be an idiot, alot of people are getting caught out as they wrongly assume they are entering a prestige lobby , honestly i have no sympathy for you people but even so theres a few other infections out there people are wanting to try out and ending up being deranked as a result so..But and lets be clear about this community members who might need to have an "L" and "R" stuck to their shoes.. just watching a video will not get you deranked there is steps after that, so if you got deranked and come on the forums expecting sympathy as your little brother accidentally watched a video and suddenly you got deranked ..we're likely to call you out.

Follow these simple rules to stay safe.. (unless you're an idiot who wanted to prestige faster then again its called karma

Don't accept invites from people you dont know (or candy from strangers)
Don't watch videos in the vaults of the random people (for uk players this def includes videos labelled Tulisa's sextape video)
Cons and scams and shenaigans work because the recipient assumes they are getting something for free don't be a patsy (again if you thought you were getting a free rank boost and/or paid for it again thats called karma and a lesson in darwinism
There are numerous infections currently circulating via the video vaults, I obviously wont name the videos or what they do but as a rough rule of thumb if you get asked to watch a video that is entitled with a 4 letter word starting with "f" dashboard

If you end up getting deranked or anything else and assuming it wasnt due to your own stupidity of wanting a free prestige boost heres what to do please note the first few steps will only work if you try then AS SOON as you are deranked.

As soon as you notice you have been deranked dashboard ...DO NOT join a game or lobby
After you dashboard turn off your xbox and restart it.
As loong as you didnt join another lobby or game you should still have everything intact if you havent follow the next steps
Contact Actvisions awesome sauce customer service team either via email ,twitter or phone (i'll post the contact details at the end of the post)
Make sure you include all the needed infomation, who deranked you , when and how (idiots might want to leave out the bit where you thought you were getting a prestige boost) also pm bancandy on here with the details.
Wait, and by wait i mean anything from 24hrs to a week to have your stats reset back to their previous levels.

If you end up in a knockback lobby, back out dashboard whatever but power down and restart your xbox to lose the infection and help stop it spreading

Hmm, no wonder I have not had much urge to play MW3 lately and instead been playing ME3. My DragonTroll sense was tingling saying stay away from the CoD its bad for you.

I'd say the majority of deranking is down to people trying to take advantage of in game exploits, Let them cry. On another note, don't watch the Tilisas sex tape it sucks, sorry I think I've said too much already! ;-)

well i only posted my original warning as it was obvious they werent..

posting points yep thats atvi's webteam going and "fixing something that wasnt broken" we all got deranked (irony) and new points system added for stuff like answering questions ect..

Not making a point but I actually posted a warning not to view videos a good 2 days before the offical warnings appeared too (ironically got called a troll for doing so such is the wonderful cod community on here nowadays)

, I think they have a policy of dont give the community bad news (bad publicity for them) if they can risk sweeping it under the carpet before anyone notices..as i said before they could have stopped this in its track days before they posted a warning just by disabling the video vaults until they could issue a hotfix, imo that would've been a far better idea noone would have complained if they said "yeah we have discovered a security flaw in the vault system and have taken it offline until we hotfix the exploit"

instead we have people being deranked and to my knowledge 6 different infections in game the knockback being the most obvious

pm bancandy on here , or @bancandy on twitter is your best course of action from expereince best to provide either photo of the xbl message or a video if its a voice message

Thumbs up for this post. Getting prestige from boost lobbies and end up getting deranked is their own fault.

However, I would like to ask for suggestion on how to report on people who tried to deranked you by sending mails telling you that they can give you full prestiges and perks.

Any suggestions?

What bothers me is the deafening silence of the devs. They need to have their prescence felt on these dark days to assure us and keep us calm. I could be wrong but their silence suggests that a patch is nowhere near completion and that they don't have an ETA. I know they are busy with the April DLC Drop but we need to have these mods stopped.

i only got into one from reg lobby of kill confirmed now i had not seen any of this before the DLC was released for public download im elite member had the maps for a while ... is activison being quite on this because it was in there download? im not saying it was... but is there any chance it was a prob with the DLC pack itself cos it all started after it was released to non elite members ? as a downloadable pack and whats with the disable dlc ? didnt ppl just buy map packs to play the dlc? as elite i never saw that message once till the past week or so

that wasnt directed at you just a statement of fact chill out, ive seen numerous videos of people claiming to be in a derank public match and its not just some **** with a jtagged gt using one of the exploits like the killstreak flying soldier one. Given the nature of how the derank works (it needs to be loaded into a players console), id say anyone who claims to have been deranked in a public match falls into the darwinism group and are saying public the same way in blops they would claim it wasnt them it was their little brother. Or they accepted an invite thinking it was a public match but was a private match.

Way too many chicken littles in the cod community nowadays.
