The holiday gift (2 additional hours of Double XP and Prestige Token) includes ELITE users who've activated a Premium subscription before

December 21st. The 21st was our cut off to get this ready, this is a technical and executional deadline. Sorry if you missed the cut off.

How disappointing. I've been playing MW3 since release. I thought nothing of leaving the Hardened Edition (received as a gift) wrapped under the Christmas tree for the past month. I would have unwrapped the gift and punched in the codes last month if I had known about some sort of freebies ahead of time. Oh well, rules are rules.

This gift was provided to you as loyalty reward and because you activated a Call of Duty ELITE Premium account prior to midnight PST on December 20, 2011.

That date WAS locked at about a month ago but due to software issues they extended it. It used to be locked at November 13th.

They gave you discounts on DLC as opposed to buying them seperatly. But that didnt sway people toward buying the Premium conent.

So do you think telling people they get a free token and some double XP is going to make them buy it? People already were complaining "Its going to be a waste of money".

As for someones analogy about being a lifetime customer at a restaraunt. Being a longtime customer of the COD series doesnt mean they owe you anything. For one thing How are they going to prove you were a long time COD fan ?

So would a pizza party instead equate ? Big deal, they gave away a token and some double experience points. That was such a really big gift, must have cost Activision a ton of money.

Donuts DO equate with this offer, they are temporary XP points for pitching in and a free token. Regardless if they gave donuts doesnt take away from the fact it was a point to show.

The email from Activision says it all.

So you do see the parts that say MORE right ?

Simple fact you buy Premium then you get something, you dont buy it you get nothing because you dont deserve any extras.

Because we paid for it then we get something for it. Simple fact of life. If you want to pay for basic Cable and we pay for Premium Cable then of course we get more than you. It a fact of life.

We get anything they decide to throw at us including whats on the Elite page.

Anyone who didnt get Premium had at least 3 months to save up money for Elite premium.

But since you (or someone else) decided not to get it is not anyones fault except the person who decided not to get it.

If you make a deicision in life you must live with the consequences of that decision. Whether the outcome is good or the outcome is bad you made the decision and you have to accept the fact that in this case you made an unwise choice.

This is from the Email you get "This gift was provided to you as loyalty reward and because you activated a Call of Duty ELITE Premium account prior to midnight PST on December 20, 2011". You had to have your account before Dec 20th to get this reward.

Activated my Elite Premium and used my founder code an hour ago. No token or double XP. BeachHead, any explanation for why those who received the Hardened Edition for Christmas won't be getting the gift of a Prestige Token plus double XP bonus?

I prestiged from 7th to 8th prestige at like 3 am PST so it meant that I got 1 prestige token. Then I got an email saying I got another token because of the christmas present from Elite. I would have 2 prestige tokens in total but I only had 1 on my account. I still got the double xp though. I'm not sure if they made a mistake or what but I didn't receive my token from the christmas present.

I understand your point, and I'll try to be a bit less condescending than you are here. My point is simply that if they advertised occasional double xp and prestige tokens, it would have been more appealing to more people. And I fully agree with RaggyFTW. I've bought my fair share of COD games and map packs, totalling far more than one elite membership, so why not us? Yes, according to your example, it's because I didn't stay late and do the work. But at the same time, those donuts hardly equate to this offer.

I'm glad founders are getting this free gift, I do think that's cool and a nice way to say thank you for jumping aboard from the get go. I just also believe that handing out the ingame bonuses isn't what that service should be for. I was a Beta tester for Elite and provided feedback, but that's not worth anything because I didn't spend the one thing that matters in this materialistic world, money. HERE is where IW is showing their true meaning of Christmas.

No, It's like being a regular who eats there every week for nearly 10 years, and always tips the waiter. Only to be treated second class to a guy who ate there once but spent more money.

Whatever, knew it wouldn't be long til ELITE started handing out ingame bonuses that actually affect the game, and i'm still glad i didn't pay £40 on such a stupid idea. Enjoy yo freebie lol.

You knew what you would miss out on if you didn't buy ELITE; they said as much, ELITE members get freebies becasue they PAID for them.

Would you walk into a restaurant and demand the same as what the other guy had, without paying for it? of course not, it is the same here.
