You just approached us in the wrong way. Spamming redundant threads, etc. You could have been respected by more people if you weren't being an idiot at the very beginning.

I do agree that some of the users let their ego get to them a little, though.

I think twitter is the easiest, fastest... and I'll geek out for a second... slickest way to chat with tweeps (e.g. peeps). Twitter has allowed me to get to a know the COD HQ mods a little... and help influence playlists in BO.

Just as important... they have gotten to know me a bit... and haven't muted me... yet...

Its not different to clicking the livehelp button on the actvi page or from elite you send up speaking to the same people , I have instances where I have been chatting away in a friendly manner to one of the actvi team on twitter about gaming in general, yet at the same time speaking to them via live chat on a game related issue. I guess it comes down to HOW you treat people on the internet as to how they treat you back , and nowadays twitter is seen as the go to place for direct communication.

Also i can cite numerous times when they have replied and offered assistance to people on their days off JUST because they were asked on twitter, thats above and beyond and wouldnt be possible with twitter.

If you have issue what would you prefer direct communication of via a forum where your issue and post gets added to and confused by the numerous people who will add their thoughts.

you can still do it the old fashioned and fastish way of phoning or emailing, but for the technical issues forums are more designed as a place where a gaming community can come together with occasional dev/pub input than a tier one csr helpline.

Twitter is fast, open and relatively simple to use as a platform for interaction. It's only constraint is the 140 character limit, but keeping things simple is sometimes better than a long wall of text. Actions there are just as critical and serious as they would be in a forum. Real customer support is a private one on one conversation with someone over a phone where the situation and developing issues can be trouble shooted in real time. It's up to the customer to choose which option they need to engage in to warrant the correct response.

This hate for twitter is, in my opinion, ignorant. If you weigh it all out, you'll see that if used correctly it's value is worth one hundred fold the time it took you to sign up and follow a handful of users.

Forums are a traditional and succesful medium for videogame discussion, but their restrictive nature is unfortunate. Not everything should be located or restricted to forums.

Re "support".

Not even getting into the dev support debate but,

I've had a lot of dealings with Actvi cs ,, the twitter team have been nothing but fast, honest and always go above and beyond to get the answer you require (maybe not always in the time you want as sometimes they have to escalate issues but i have seen numerous instances where they have kept updating someone on an open issue ect). They have tried and succeeded imo to present a friendly personal face to a huge nameless company like activision and deserve props.

One important thing to to remember with any cm, cs rep ect is that they are no different to you and even if the issue you have is pissing the hell out of you , talking to them with even a modicum of respect goes alot further than trolling/flaming or generally insulting them. Long gone are the days when we had cms and devs for games who could afford to spend a few hours chatting to players on a forum or irc chat.

I'm guessing you have no idea how little the cost of gaming has changed since Pong... it's gone down in terms of relative cost versus value.

That was the answer you were looking for. That's who you can ask. There are no moderators that could answer that, because the moderators are not affiliated with the developing companies themselves- they're either volunteers or Activision support.
