hey all-

after many series of freezes i tried this --- I set up another psn account, all new.

played seveal multiplayer games, and as of 3 quick games in a row - nothing has frozen. So if this is a fix - what is in the psn user account that would trigger a freeze?

just my 2 cents. - i'll repost in a day or so with more info if this is working for me.

i havent read 9 pages but heres a thought...

Fat PS3's have a problem with wireless routers that broadcast wireless N.

I.e if you are with BT and have a home HUB3.. foget it, not compatable.

Like so many others, I'm experiencing the same problem. I have the fat original PS3 and have played COD MW3 without issue for months but all of a sudden it just started freezing during multiplayer online mode either immediately after a game (when viewing the scores) or right before a game would launch. I thought it might be over-heating, but it was happening within just a few games. I took it in anyways to a reputable service center and they upgraded my fan (very loud now) and then did a whole bunch of maintenance checks and refreshes on the system and said it was good to go. Nope... still happening and now after the first game. I have tried lots of other solutions like wiping out the game data and having it reloaded, cleaning the lens with an expensive lens cleaner, laying the unit on its back or side (mixing it up), nothing mattered. I then tried playing COD1 online again and experienced the exact same thing which told me it wasn't the MW3 game, but something else with the software or system when goes online.

I still have no fix and now I can't play MW3 online anymore... too many reboots and restarts are starting to affect the blu-ray players ability to read discs altogether I think. Thought about buying another PS3, but only if I knew for sure it wouldn't happen again but I'm not convinced its the player... i think there's a code error somewhere. I won't be buying any future COD MW games though if this problem continues.

try cleaning your disc.

I also have a big fan running next to my PS3 to cool it down while playing.

Hi everyone...

Today this freeze thing happend to me aswell. After a whole year of MW3 gaming!!! I have the first generation ps3, with ps2 games capability.

Now that I have read throu all 8 pages of complaints of trial and error I am no wiser.

My game freezes at scoreboard after every match (6 times by now). Also i got error codes: 800010514(if i try to enter game straight after restart)and some other code I only saw ones. To temporarly fix the 800010514 code I let the ps3 cool down.

I am thinking that it has something to with overheating or that my ps3 is getting old from everyday wear since 2007. But it is wiered that new consoles have same problem.

And just now I tried to play spec ops befor MP, as getKILLD suggested but froze when I choosed a map in spec ops.

And when I eject the disc after freezing(no hard restarts) it does not recognice my game disc(no disc icon in XMB).

I apologize 4 my questionable spelling and messy reply, but I have to consumeed alot of beer to see if that helps(it doesnt).

Hapened to me yesterday, but with black ops. It has happened with MW3 before too. The system freezes and even the controller becomes unresponsive. I have to press the on/off button for it to reset.

I have these exact problems too. HARD FREEZE!! Annoying. Need help. I believe it started when i downloaded the map packs. It was working fine before (yes just got map packs). It only happens for MW3 multiplayer. No other game. Makes me not want to risk Black Ops II.. Someone please help!

A lot of it is to do with MW3 being labour intensive on the PS3, save game to HDD would stop the disc constantly accessing your PS3.

The new PS4 will have this option as well as its Optical Drive, thank the Sony GoDs

When this happens on mine, it's always the same maps. I can go into certain ones and they work fine. Spec Ops works ok too. FRUSTRATING!!! Starting to really piss me off that they aren't finding a fix. Why can't they fix this?

This happens to me as well. It usually happens from air strikes and large explosions.

On my old PS3 which just so happen to die right after it froze playing MW3. I am on PS3 number three now.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that im one more person this is happening to. At the end of every MW3 game it will show the scores and my ps3 will freeze. Its not having any trouble reading this disk or any other. Ive tried both black ops and MW2 and they work just fine. And yes im sure its not good for our ps3s to have to be restarted like this all the time. If something happends to mine because of this im going to be pissed. Mine is a 160gb slim by the way and its only about a year old. Also i disabled theatre mode and the facebook thing. no luck. I just installed the new update for MW3 which is version 1.17. My PS3 is also the updated to version 4.21.

happend to me too. the only think that stopped was to exchange the hdd. i also have to ps3 systems - the old (60gb and the slim 320gb). my slim hdd crashed, gamefreezing loading problems etc. i took the 60gb hdd and used it for the slim = now everthings fine!

i'm 100% sure this is a fault caused by your hdd! give it a try you'll see!

It's a glitch that requires the Hamr Little Scope & Suppressor. Shoot a riot shield. Boom, please fix this console breaker.

Ok so I hear that if you delete your cache and cookies and also turn off theater recording it supposedly helps. It didn't for me I see that people have had this "freezing" problem since the day MW3 came out so clearly they're not even trying to fix this. I've practically given up on MW3. But try the options I said and if they don't work I suggest to call activision and see what those idiots have to say.
