Working my way through 8th prestige and hoping to make it to 10 before the Wii-U and BLOPS2 comes out. That, with my hunger for titles and emblems, I can say that I got more than my money's worth out of this godforsaken game!

Went through the SCAR-L again just to get a title, t'was fast. Is it just me or do assault rifles feel much lighter and agile when silenced? The muzzle flash reduction definitely helps with my aim, as there's no more light blocking my sights. I find that I've become a stealth junkie, with Blind Eye and Assassin equipped, as well as a silencer whenever it's not a sniper rifle. Stealth is very important, especially since many of these players seem so unaware.

The Dragunov... right from the pits of hell, I doubt it'd burn in Mordor. Currently my biggest woe and so far my hardest challenge in MW3. It's the last sniper rifle I have to go through and I'm not planning to break my anti-ACOG trend now. Relative to the other snipers, this gun is absurdly weak; relative to real life, I guess it's normal. But when you're facing people with Akimbo guns, Rapid Fire SMGs, and One-Shot Kill snipers; it's a problem that requires some finesse. On top of that, its recoil is bananas, even with Kick! It's so bolognie that I've come to believe that the sights are an illusion and that I've been firing blanks (that's how emasculating the Dragunov is). Guaranteed, at least two shots are need to kill, unless it is a headshot. Typically, I do not use Silencers on snipers; they reduce the effective range significantly and, in the Dragunov's case, the ability to land headshots. Literally, I have shot someone in the head with a silenced Dragunov only to see them escape. Not sure what Infinity Ward was thinking (then again, not sure if they think at all) but the damage tables for this gun need to be adjusted. And yes, I'm aware it was buffed on other consoles and wasn't on the Wii.

Oh boy, mediocre teammates. Yup, the kind that walk past enemies and secure long-abandoned explosive decoys.

Scenario One: Village. In that trail under the bridge, I have just killed an enemy. Reloading, I turn around to find an enemy standing there and a teammate walking up behind him. I get shot down while my teammate luxuriously steps up behind the enemy to knife him. Where's the camaraderie? Why, on this straight path, would you take the time to knife an enemy instead of shooting him on sight and saving your teammate?

Scenario Two: Resistance. The other team has luckily gained an assault Juggernaut through a care package. All my teammates camp in the dark center building. That should say enough. Juggernauts aren't some monsters to be feared -- the key to killing them is teamwork, like a pack of wolves on a moose, albeit an armed moose. With it being constantly tracked on your radar, your team should be able to coordinate some sort of concentrated fire even without mics. Hiding in a building will only get you picked off by the enemy team -- who will potentially be reckless due to the hubris from having a Juggernaut on their team. You cannot wait a Juggernaut out.

And there ends my observations. Anyone know whether the release date of the Wii-U is confirmed? It seems rather soon. I'm looking forward to the titles announced, namely ZombieU, Assassin's Creed, and Ninja Gaiden. Not sure if I'll buy it though, seeing as I most likely will not bring it to college with me and it'll only drain my time. Decisions, decisions. Presumably, BLOPS2 will be ready for release by the release of the Wii-U but I'll see how it turns out before buying it. $300 sounds reasonable, I'm just hoping it isn't a hardware letdown and turns out like its predecessor.

Sportsmanship, gamemanship, what?

If you bother to remember, you'd know that I only post to share my opinions and update you on my CoDular experiences as though you care. So here it is:

Spent the last few weekends going through 6th prestige, taking my sweet time. Got through five guns (500-kill milestone) and am working on the Five-Seven; which I am surely going to regret once I get around 300, but it's actually quite fun running around with a Five Seven /Extended Mags. The single pistol thing definitely catches others off guard and whenever I do use the MSR that I lug around, I feel as though I've learned from Tite Kubo and pulled a new power out of my ass. Too many times have I heard "Humanity's a effing quickscoper" from a squeeker who's running across the map in the open with Akimbo weapons. Easy pickings.

What I've realized, going through that prestige, is that this game is actually a quality game. The graphics aren't tacky and it feels like an operational FPS. I could actually see Remington engraved on the MSR. Now that's attention to detail. Sure it's not HD but hey, we're Wii players, we don't give a rat's ass. I use a 480p component wire and I have to say it's quite worth it, definitely a difference. The game is fun, and no, you don't need the luck of a lottery winner. The good, memorable matches are the ones that feel competitive, gnome saying? When you become "acquainted" with the players in the lobby, when you know their playing styles and their skills, when you have that rivalry or feel of camaraderie; then the matches are enjoyable. I like to look for players that play, not only well, but calmly and competitively. If I die, I'd like to be able to die saying "Wow, he got me good on that one" and try to get him back; as compared to raging and pulling out FMGs as some do. It's all a very friendly competition for me really; no anger, just fun. I'd say that there's a kind of sportsmanship that not only makes the game fun for you, it makes the game fun for others. Only, I wouldn't say it's sportsmanship, seeing as this a videogame; I reserve that term for actual sports. The shortcomings of the game, however, are to be placed on the players who exploit the flaws; the players who exploit the poor weapon balance, game glitches, and lack of game security are the causes of woe in this game. They lack the gaming attitude that I mentioned before. Is there a sense of accomplishment in exploiting the game to get an upperhand? No, and it's often these people that find themselves bored with the game. Then they use that excuse to copy codes and play the game perversely. With that all said and done, I can only hope that those people grow up and find that there is more than murking involved in playing this game; along with the exciting nature of the game, included should be a mix of emotions like respect, fear, disappointment, pride, etc. Multiplayer games go deeper than scoring, it's a form of human interaction and I think that players need to know.

tl;dr? Then stop staring at this thread, acting like you pay rent.

Having finished my Monster Hunter Tri phase, I've returned to MW3 to pass time. Spent the last few days using the AS50 (with CCP and no ACOG, mind you) and just hit the 500-kill mark last night. As that is the milestone I have for each gun, I'm now on the L86 LSW which is surprisingly good.

As you may have noticed, 500 kills probably took quite the number of matches. None of those matches, and I kept a keen eye, had any blatant hackers. Now I did run into a couple of Striker Spammers and Akimbo'ers but overall the matches were fair and competitive. I don't know if you guys are purposely blowing up the hacker situation, viewing an isolated occurence as a game-wide problem, or really are running into hackers as often as you say; I can't see much evidence of it. As of late, I've moved into Central Time so either it's the East Coast kiddies that hack (I play around 9pm - 12am so they ought to be asleep) or Lady Luck is more than on my side. I try to avoid clans as they are often a tribe of prepubescents with copied codes. Any advice I can give you guys is play Mercenary (to avoid said clans) and the occasional objective gametypes. I personally played Mercenary for the majority of the time and played a few matches of Headquarters Pro and Domination in between. Avoid the people with custom characters in their names. To see if someone's stats are altered, go to Barracks - Leaderboards - Score - Press X - Choose "Lobby"; this will show the overall score and playtime of players in-lobby. If you do find out there's a hacker, leave the lobby or even the gametype if there's no other lobby available. See, it's not so hard.

On a side note, Moderate NAT type is amazing. Never had to worry about being host since I moved.

Oh and I almost forgot, someone requested that I end all my posts with a simile. So I think we can all agree that Slender is as scary as Bruce Lee pissed.

Other than that one Team Defender match, which I always find has hackers, I'd say hacking (and tomfoolery?) isn't too rampant from what I've seen. Especially after the 3DS, Nintendo hasn't exactly been prosperous. They've invested so much into the 3DS, that after its less-than-spectacular sales, investors aren't liking Nintendo too much.

This goes for game publishers and developers as well. Treyarch, among others, knows this as they've had a difficult history with Nintendo and the Wii series of CoD. Based on the trouble experienced so far, i think they'd prefer to avoid Nintendo consoles altogether rather than gain a profit that is insignificant to those gained from other consoles.

Hopefuls may not agree with my speculations but its likely. Let's face it, all we know the WiiU has that the Wii doesn't is better hardware, network, and a tablet(?). Seeing as the hardware and network is already available in other HD consoles, there aren't many draw factors left to the WiiU. Tablet? not very conventional. We know that Nintendo is trying to appeal to the core gamer with the new system, but it's questionable whether they're going about it the right way.

Switch consoles and you will still find hackers and immature ruffians. The title has things like Akimbo and aim assist because it's catered towards young'uns and lazy people who don't like to aim (or play a FPS legitly at all). There'll be less but the game is still the same. All this run-and-gun hype doesn't make sense anymore.

The PP90M1, for example, does have a lot of pros compared to cons but isn't necessarily OP. (does that thing even shoot bullets? I know it does but I imagine it shooting those pellets from the movie Gamer)

Machine Pistols are a whole different story. They're oxymorons that defy their classification as a Secondary. Essentially, they come with Warlord, Overkill, whatever they call it that allows you to equip two primaries. I forget because of my Monster Hunter-induced hiatus. If not for their lack of ammo, MP's can compete on the level of primaries, clearly. So glory to Infinity Ward for their game design. Hurrah! Instead of focusing on what's cool and flashy, why not make sense? That's what they're all about these days anyway: aesthetic appeal over actual content; too caught up in Modern Warfare hype.

IMO, support pointstreaks like the osprey, recon juggernaut, and stealth bomber are misplaced. If you're any good, the 18 kills needed for an escort airdrop should come on a game-to-game basis, if not more. With the support package, this is a piece of cake. Easy come, easy go. This is not a well-earned killstreak thus it should be easily destroyed via EMP grenade. Makes good opportunities for trolls as well

Likewise for the DS. Besides, it makes sense that "mainly Pokemon" DLC is available because it is Nintendo's game. They're mostly just promotional pokemon anyway. Do you realize the difference in amount of coding for a single pokemon compared to an interactive multiplayer map? Yes, your argument is invalid seeing as the consoles are different in power and the DLC is different in size. Porting full maps down and checking them for bugs is not an easy task, especially considering that they're not maps that Treyarch designed. You can blame the Wii and the lack of respect for it.
