the problem with HQ is that its very much a team game.

If your team is crap or they rage quit you have no chance.

Add to that the fact that 7/10 times you will be up against a clan who are working together and actually have tatics then HQ can be very unfriendly for a lone wolf.

However once you understand that then the other comments apply.

Be unpredictable like the hang back picking off guy said and you will get quite a few people that will run straight past you trying to cap the HQ.

I have started hunting those people that do this btw, its funny watching them go hide whilst their team gets the HQ - it keeps the game interesting

failing that go to a hardware store and buy an extractor fan and a some of that silver tubing stuff and rig it up to a window and hey presto you can smoke and play at the same time.

Yes your house will look like a korean bbq dining establishment but its all in the name of progress.

Yeah it seems random for me too, might be because I am playing headquarters?

I have just got used to people spawn killing me. Its worth it so that you can win the game.

The more mature players just break the insertion thuogh.

Yeah its just the lag.

You can have any gun and be completely crap all of a sudden because the game gets laggy.

Or you can have a completely crap gun and completly own with it because you are getting a lag bonus.

That being said, after 3rd prestige through until 8 (now) I just cant be assed buying any other guns so I just stick with the famas.

its good with light weight and marathon and on smaller maps.

As soon as you are at range, you are going to get killed first.

Try this

I have quite perfected it yet but it should work.

Switch to semtex, sick it to your team mate who is running towards the enemy.

Assuming they get close enough you get a semtex kill.

I cop heaps of abuse and I am only 8th prestige not sure why people feel threatened by me I am just here to play the game.

I dont spawn trap and I try not to camp unless I am getting beaten

press the select button after you have selected your class and you will get the user list of people and you can see their connection next to their names.

Normally if most people are 3 green bars or more then it will be fine.

The guy with the best connection bars will be the server (typically).

If you quit a game it counts as a loss and the game stats are set as 0

The net effect of rage quiting is that you get no xp or cod$ you get +1 loss but your K/D is not effected.

OK dont take this the wrong way but it is likely the reason you are "kicking ass" is because you are lagging hence the people you are killing cant shoot back. After a short period of this happening the host will just drop you.

Also remember that you can have a great connection but if you have a crap connection to your host (who might even be in Australia) then the game is going to be crap.

Personally, i have set my BOs to locale only and when I connect to a game the first thing i do is check the connection stats and if they are bad i just d/c and join the next host.

Also try turning off your headset.

Being that the game is peer to peer, I wonder how often the stats are reported back to the statistics servers and, should those servers be running slowly, does that impact the games?

I was in a game yesterday where everyone had 1 orange dot apart from the host who had 3 green bars and people where jumping all over the place.

Interestingly as soon as these two kids that were on my team rage quit (they had headsets) everything went back to normal.

Prehaps we should block headset data on slow games?
