My own demo from last week (also after the patch) doesn't work either. Both giving the same error (An error occured while connecting to the server). I run a GTX460 and it works very well. The only issue is turning on Shader Warming as the guide suggests will cause the game to kick you on the larger maps and not having it turned on can cause stuttering for the first few seconds of any game. But after 20 seconds or so, the games works great with 60fps consistently. I just won't engage the enemy until 20 seconds have passed so I don't really notice that issue. And I run it on Windows 7. Windows XP is even better.

FPS isn't the problem, you can easily get 250FPS with gtx460 (and a proper cfg). The problem is that the game stutters and lags every time someone shoots at you (or you shoot at someone) in MP.

Well then I have no idea what made this patch a "major" one. Probably a major fail w/ snipers or something. Funny thing is that this sniper-thing effectively killed ALL competitive gaming (clanbase and esl - but esl is a joke and no one gives a damn about it :p) because snipers are like ....the most important players..

Anyways, what *did* this patch actually do?
As far as I know, the only thing that changed were snipers. And that was by mistake.
Performance improvements - none, dual-core users and GTX460 owners have the same problems as before (believe me, I have a dual core CPU and GTX460 :p). Seriously, I thought that this was supposed to be a "major" patch as pcdev stated on his twitter. (I'm getting more and more pissed as i'm writing this post) FFS I have computer that can run Crysis 2 w/ highest details without any "stuttering" (i hate this word) and freezing (and more importantly with even framerate!) and I'm lagging @11FPS everytime I get shot at in BO set on LOW details.
Once again they are trying to fool everybody by introducing irelevant and unimportant gameplay tweaks that no one gives a **** about and the god damned game still doesn't work properly. I mean ...argh... RAGE. It's almost 5 months after release. My cat would have it fixed by now you incompetent amateurs.
Actually! No wait, the game now runs flawlessly when i'm in main menu, it used to be laggy and choppy before and now it's magically fixed! /sarcasm

No, it's not a user problem, you can stop trying to fix the game because you can only make the problem a little smaller. You can ignore all those "OmGomG yo PC is broken'!" trolls because they obviously haven't experienced the issue.
Sooo, no, this is not a solution, the problem is deffinitely in the CPU/GPU usage stuff... The lags are smaller and the stuttering less apparent because there's not so many people and no killstreaks but it's all still there.

BO looks like crap compared to this and has like triple HW requirements soo yeah, treyarch. just sayin'

If you guys are experiencing MP lags, I recommend turning on lagometer (/lagometer 1 in console), there, you can clearly see if the lag is HW (blue area/yellow spikes) or network (green area/red spikes) which can help isolate the issue... (No, it won't reduce the lag). I suppose that all of you know this but...in case anyone doesn't .... ^^

No performance issues (at least for me..and i frankly don't remember anyone complaining about HW reqs or stuttering or bad GPU usage or anyhing like that), no sound issues, no prestige issues etc. To me MW2 was far worse game made more professionally. And MW2 had better SP campaign but who cares about that..
