I first deleted the old install and then did the reinstall. To this date I have yet to have the "Disc Read Error" again.

I am not saying this issue is solved 100% but I have not seen it yet and I hope to never see it again.

I would like to once again thank G IH A IN ID II for all his help and suggestions on possible solutions. I believe if you talk to Activision CS they may replace the disk for you, but I'm not certain about this.

I do not want to mislead this thread but there has been an ongoing issue I have been having after each TU that has been relased. I have made a thread in the Technical Support forums with nobody giving any type of help and/or sugguestions.

The thread can be found here:

http://community.callofduty.com/thread/200444289?tstart=120

The problem relates to a "Disc Read Error" that occurs during online matches and even in Special Ops missions. The game is installed to the HDD and when the error occurs the disc is NOT spinning in the disc tray.

What is odd is that I get the error saying I need to clean the disc or check for scratches and I can see everything in the background happening just fine. However, if I press any button on the controller it goes back to the Xbox 360 dashboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! A reply from either @G IH A IN ID II or anyone else would be awesome!

Notes: I have MW3 installed to the Xbox 360 250GB Slim HDD and there are NO scratches on the game disc. The error seems to happen after a TU and may not appear for a while.

Thanks.

What I do not understand is that the disc itself is not spinning in the disc tray when I receive these errors.

I have a Slim Xbox 360 with a 250GB HDD with MW3 installed to the HDD. The MW3 disc itself has NO scratches or scuff marks and I was not having this problem before the latest TU.

I have cleared the cache, uninstalled the game from the HDD and reinstalled. Still, this disc read error persists. I would also like to note that I do not seem to have this disc read problems with things like Spec Ops or the Campaign, only Multiplayer.

Is there something I am missing or what? Is there anything I can do to help solve this issue?
