Just wanted to give an update on the situation.

After G IH A IN ID II sugguested that I try reinstalling the game again I did just that. I first deleted the old install and then did the reinstall. To this date I have yet to have the "Disc Read Error" again.

I am not saying this issue is solved 100% but I have not seen it yet and I hope to never see it again.

I would like to once again thank G IH A IN ID II for all his help and suggestions on possible solutions. I hope reinstalling did the trick!

Yes G IH A IN ID II, it appears to run fine when uninstalled. However, I have not done this extensively. I'll keep trying it this way and see what comes up.

This is a problem with the copy of the disk to the hard drive. I believe if you talk to Activision CS they may replace the disk for you, but I'm not certain about this. Also try reinstalling the game again if you haven't already.

Okay, I'll try reinstalling the game and see if that makes a difference at all. If not, I'll be sure to talk to Activision CS and see what they have to say.

I began using the ACR 6.8 because it was my favorite gun from MW2. However, I have recently moved on to the M4A1.

As much as I love the M4A1, even more so than the ACR 6.8, I feel at many times I have no chance against some of these other weapons. I do not want to call any of the weapons overpowered but when using my M4A1 sometimes I feel so underpowered and helpless.

Per G IH A IN ID II's request from the MW3 Update and Fixes forum I have uninstalled the game and it appears to be working fine. However, I have not done any extensive testing for this and I will keep this post updated with any further findings.

I hate bringing up a thread that has gotten no response but the issue has come back since the latest TU for Xbox 360.

As I stated previously the issue has not been happening and in fact seems like it went away. That is, until yesterday's TU. I am back to almost every other game giving me the "Disc Read Error" telling me to clean the disc and check for scratches.

Why is this happening even when the game is installed to the HDD and the game disc is not even spinning in the disc tray?

Also, why does this issue seem to come and go? This does NOT happen on any other game.

I would like to note that I did not see this issue yesterday but I only played a couple of matches.

I will keep this post updated with any other findings I may come across.

Ever since the last TU for the Xbox 360 I have been getting lots of disc read errors when maps are attempting to load or sometime during the match. What I do not understand is that the disc itself is not spinning in the disc tray when I receive these errors.

I have a Slim Xbox 360 with a 250GB HDD with MW3 installed to the HDD. The MW3 disc itself has NO scratches or scuff marks and I was not having this problem before the latest TU.

I have cleared the cache, uninstalled the game from the HDD and reinstalled. Still, this disc read error persists. I would also like to note that I do not seem to have this disc read problems with things like Spec Ops or the Campaign, only Multiplayer.

Is there something I am missing or what? Is there anything I can do to help solve this issue?

I'm still not sure this update will help people that experience these issues playing online solo. I've only seen where this will help with parties but hopefully it'll help out those who play solo as well.

At least they're doing something. It may not help but at least it's something.

True but I made sure it was under 30 seconds. I really haven't spent that much time trying to figure out why it didn't upload after following their instructions.

I really wanted the video for my personal satisfaction over wanting the web to see it. As long as I can view the file on my Xbox it's alright.

When I get around to it I may try to find out how to get it to upload without having to either link to Facebook or whatnot.

I just want my video to upload. Last night was the first time I've ever tried to upload a video. Followed all the steps and still have no video.

The screenshot did work though but I'd much rather have the video clip I made.

It was a sticky at one point in time, at least in the General MW3 Forum. I asked the same question a little while back with no response.

I'll let you figure out/guess as to why the thread is no longer a sticky.

Edit: It appears that the update thread is in the "Featured Content" section on the General MW3 Forum. It's just not a sticky anywhere else.
