It's sad because this game could have been great, and up there with Cod 4 and remembered as being one of the PC's greatest Cod games, but it will be remembered as one of the most hacked games ever, released for the PC with 0 support from the Dev's. I cannot understand why players turn to cheats to win games, knowing they will get banned then have the hard face cheek to come into the forum and ask for help from legit players.

Re: Having a massive problem, can't seem to fix it...Does anyone have similar difficulties or solutions that can solve this problem?

well the IW5mp is around 5.920 in size and the single player is 5,522 so it may well be your single player down loading each time you check your files. if the game freeze happens at the same point every time it may well be an issue with your graphics card, you say the game worked well, then you uninstalled, and reinstalled, have you installed anything else between that point that may cause and issue. I don't know that much about mac's but your BIOS and direct x graphics and sound drivers are the latest versions. and just click the support button at the top of this page, and follow the instructions.

I had a problem like this but with Mafia 2, installed first time worked fine, then uninstalled and re-installed the game would crash all the time, it turned out to be the Nvidia PhsXsystem, was the latest version on my system, but the game needed the version that came with the game installing first, then updating to the newer version?

Way Way back when it was a Cod 4 forum, you could ask a question and fellow forum members and the dev's would reply to your post, it looks like no one other than PC Users answer questions, on the forum, which is not a bad thing but a little feedback from the Dev's would help, and yes there are a few million consol users, but lets see how many stay with the consol when they can only purchase full price games, as they are going to stop "or changing" pre-owned games sales for the consol gamers.

If windows shows that your harddrive is full, try removing unwanted programs or games from that drive, but your drive may even be on the way out? even if you install a game on another drive, some file(s) will always be written back to your main steam folder, and don't forget about your hidden temp files - check those by typing the following in your run box %temp% enter, this will show any temp files from installations ect that may be stored on your PC.

I think a kick system would be ok, but open to misuse, a poor player will always state cheating is going on, but even with dead silence on you can still hear another player, may be running, or moving over ammo, or dropping off a step or object? I have played Cod 4, WAW and the like for years and do rely on sounds to help me get the drop on other players, try it yourself it does work ...

It still means they are over 160000 plus PC gamers out there playing MW3, that by law should get support from the devs, and some sort of working anti cheat system, so the sales for consoles are a lot bigger than PC, it's been leaning that way for years, 5 years ago they said no one would produce games for PC's anymore but they still do. look at the likes of steam and Origin, there are millions of users all have PC's. I did not get BO2 because of the feedback in the forum, I wish now I read this forum first before spending £35 on a game made unplayable by cheaters.

The problem is a simple one, the P2P system is rubbish, read through the forum and it states they cannot simply ban a cheater, as I could on our server in Cod 4, even the dedicated servers have a very poor admin tool, and Vac has an history of banning players for no reason. as a long time PC gamer, and have spent over the years a lot of money on rigs and games, and a Cod fan we the user have been let down by the games poor online system, i.e. no ranked dedi servers and the poor lobby ranking system, and the fact that 90% of all games played have one or more cheaters in the using all sort of hacks, thus making the game unplayable to normal gamers, and as for anti cheat system Punkbuster would be nice, and why steam in the first place, I don't need steam for Cod 4 or WAW and you can get your own DRS with punkbuster and rcon to police any suspect players who enter your server. I have not played this game online for ages, because of all those cheaters, the game is just not fun to play ...

OK mate I will reply to your comments? if you need to relax with a controller in ones hands after a hard days work, buy GTA or even Mafia 2 or even better get yourself an xbox and then we don't have to read your snide comments, FPS games on the PC are 95% keyboard and mouse, and tests have been made with KB n Mouse coming out on top. for those who need a controller to play games and who cannot or are unable to use the keyboard and mouse combo then there will be 3rd party sortware to help. however if you are only looking for an aim assist then get a PS3 or XBox to play the game on, because the only players that have aim assist in this game are cheaters and we all know how many of them are about

Well hackers are the boys and girls who produce and sell the code, it's the cheaters that use the codes, NOW! if you go online they are plenty of sites who sell codes to cheaters clearly advertised, don't get me wrong I dislike both but why don't the Devs go after the hackers who produce the code, then no hacks for the game cheaters would be gone... simples

I had an issue like yours, any game would shut my PC down, after about half an hour of play it turned out to be blocked fins below fan on my processor and the seating compound was not doing its job, so I stripped down and cleand every thing and re-pasted and all was well, I would also check your graphics card has nothing restricting air flow, and you are using two rails from your PSU to power it, however if it's not an hardware issue then check to see if you have the latest BIOS installed for your system, and as BehindYou_Tom said look at your event viewer, to see if that shows any faults recorded, you could simply have a faulting PSU that cannot deliver the correct current to power every thing when playing high end games.

We where left in the cold the day the game was released, with all the pre-sales bull, like yes the pc player will get RDS and we ended up with some hack fest lobby system, and no support because the PC version has no anti-cheat system and the gamers have to police the game them selves whats the point in that????

I'll check you out on steam next time I fancy a game of MW3, normally manning our Cod4 server in the evening "Uk time" between 7:30 until 9 or 10 pm.

May be your firewall or antivirus blocking your game, and have you updated your BIOS and have the latest dirvers for your video card.

Turn off anti-virus and firewall to see if you can get past the load screen...

Have you looked in event viewer to see if anything shows up that can help,

Well my issue is most of the clan has uninstalled the game, so I would like to play online, I have been in the servers but few are active when I go on line, so if the P2P was sorted I would venture back and have a few games with out bumping into a cheater or two, as they just kill the fun of the game, and I don't see the point in playing against cheaters.

If you are using an headset then just go to Control Panel/Speech Recognition experience and set up microphone, Or make your headphone default sound channel if your headset does not have a mic

Well to be honest, BO2 and MW3 have a lot of cheaters in them, and even cod 4, but most dont get on the server because of punkbuster but one or two make it onto the sever each week and are delt with if they stay for more than a few games "you can watch them on cod 4" which makes it easy to tell if they are just good players or have a cheat running but most are just good players but it's the same with BO's if you play well you get kicked all the time so I don't play that much but I do like WAW and a bolt thats fun to play ...
