The PP90 is good, but it's RoF and low mag count cost it the number two slot. The P90 is one of those weapons that requires finesse, and is usable only in specific situations.

Regardless, this point is moot. There was no patch/buff implemented. It's all a placebo effect.

Yeah the vague "has been buffed" sentence has been around since MW2 (maybe even WaW).

@Jambo:

If that's correct, IW has seriously not put thought into this "buff". Pre-"buff" the UMP was already the best (or at the very least second best) SMG in the game (battling for 1st place with the MP7). The AK was a death dealer, especially if paired with kick and suppressor.

The MP5 did need a buff, but RoF wasn't its issue. It was damage at range and the horrid kick you get when trying to clear a room with it.

The only ones in that list I can actually agree with are the M16 power/RoF buff. It was woefully underpowered compared to the other level 1 unlock, the M4 and the PM-9 getting reduced recoil.

And, as others have said, the shotguns needed work FAR more than any AR or SMG. They (the shotguns) are so unpredictable that they're worthless. Unless, that is, you use the two OP cannons that are the USAS and Striker. I'd love to see a patch that decreases the Striker's OHK ability at range and increases the USAS's kick. Or hell, just give the AA-12 a damage buff, and the SPAS and KSG a OHK range increase and call it a day.

Re: How to make Riot Shields effective again

The hitbox for the MW3 shield is smaller and you turn slower and have a wider gap between it and the ground compared to the MW2 riot shield. The only thing needed to fix the Riot Shield now is to make it so you can turn faster and kill faster with the melee. There's no reason why with any other primary you get a OHK melee but the riot shield takes two. Plus it's insanely slow when you have to crouch to even have a hope of using it.

No pistol attachment, please. And no "random damage modifier" for melee. Just make it more like MW2's (harder to hit around/under the shield) and more damage on the melee.

However the pro perk should have another advantage. I mean Assasin Pro makes you immune to EMP and CUAV as well as no red crosshair/name. That's a pretty robust perk. Overkill Pro should at least give you the ability to have extra lethal grenades (a la MW2) or something to compensate. I mean a secondary attachment is great and all, but still.

It works alright with both Kick and and Rapid Fire on. It's just not that good because it's low accuracy, low fire rate, and low mag capacity. Yes, the MP7 has low recoil and good range, but the UMP45 with Rapid Fire is just as good if not better in gameplay terms.

Gun stats and damage tables are all well and good, but everyone knows it's all about weapon feel and personal preference when it comes to these things. I've seen guys do really well using the MP5, but as you said at the outset, I just can't get into the weapon.

The usual offenders for this are the attackers, but some times defenders push too far as well. I agree that it is an issue that needs to be looked at, but then again, the way it was before didn't really help either. The only thing that will really make things better is if teams stop playing Demo (or HQ, Dom, other objective based games) like TDM (i.e. playing for kills) - but we all know that won't happen.

Checkmate11B (@Checkmate11B)

Off Duty Gamers - Staff

U.S. Army 11B34 E-6

The "Snow" variant is just god awful. Also, I'd like to see some of the camo styles that were in BLOPS appear in MW3 - Dust, Olive, etc.

As far as weapons, the M1911 would be a welcome addition. However, I don't see them adding Premium content that features new weapons. What I'd expect, instead, would be weapon 'skins' - i.e. making the MP5 from MW3 look like the MP5K from MW2 or the stock MP5N from CoD4. This would allow for "new" weapons, but keep balance as the skins would retain the stats of their original.
