Well, it's going to revolutionise RTS gameplay. Instead of a traditional rectangular map, the developers are aiming to achieve a full solar system with round planets, which as many as 40 or more

players fighting in one game, on seperate planets and asteroids. It is set in a science-ficiton future where technology has become the best of it's kind, after humans have been wiped out and an interplanetary war started by humans is still being

carried out by replicating robots that fight endlessly.

Game Information

The official Planetary Annihilation forum

PC Gamer Interview

Forum Thread of official announced features

About it:

"We're not shooting for realism; we're shooting for awesome"

This game isn't meant to be a super realistic game. At quoted above, they are focusing a lot more on the gameplay than the realism side of things. Despite this, many parts of the game are still physics based; you can alter planetary orbits, you can

fire using large artillery cannons from celestial object to celestial object! When travelling around, you don't use warp drives; you use good old rocket engines.

The game world isn't a bunch of preset planets. When relocating to a new planet all the gameplay still happens around you. Time doesn't freeze with multiple different static play areas; instead, the game world is fully simulated and you have full control

over gameplay, everywhere. Each planet can interact with another, to the extent of CRASHING ASTEROIDS INTO PLANETS. Yes, you hear me correctly.

Official Trailer:

Modding is an extremely high priority for the game developers. They plan to allow you to install mods directly when joining a server instead of needing to hunt them down, and a full scripting system is planned. Each game planet is fully procedural and this

means that every time you play, you can either have a randomly generated map, a built in preset map, or even load in planets you made with an in-game editor and map your own solar system. The editor isn't in any way limited; you'd be able to make unlimited

sized planets as far as the game could handle without crashing, and even then if you are feeling cocky you will be able to override it with a simple console command.

The developers aren't skimping on multiplayer, either. They are making sure to support Windows, Mac and Linux, and LAN multiplayer will be fully supported. They are trying to make the possibilities endless; in the finished game, you'll even be able to "share" a faction with another player to allow

both big set up multiplayer tounraments where several players on the same faction could all individually micro-manage a few planets while sharing the same resource pools and units, or you could have dozens of seperate factions, all playing in the same world,

at the same time, fully interacting with each other. It's completely versatile: one minute you could be playing a small game with only one planet and a very small amount of players, traditional RTS style, and the next you could be trekking across an entire

solar systems, fighting off thousands of units from dozens of factions on hundreds of planets and moons.

With such great multiplayer possibilities, you'll want to remember these epic battles. That's why a full gameplay recorder is being implemented, which will record every step of the game, and you will be able to play it back later. None of this static recordings

either! You'll be able to change camera position and angles, change what faction's line of site you are viewing and view their resources at any time, and watch a fully dynamic recording afterwards which means that casual players can enjopy rewatching their best]

battles while bith groups could view it to carefully refine what they had done wrong, and hone up their skills.

TotalHalibut's Developer Interview:

Remember to try and pledge high! With a $40 pledge you get the game in Beta stage, the soundtrack, and an exclusive commander. WIth a $100 pledge, you get a digital copy of the game, access to the alpha, a physical box of the game, a set of miniature models, and another special Alpha commmander. You also get

the rewards from all previous pledges!

Stretch Goals!

Also headshots are way to easy in MW3.

-BlkOps map design. Agree.

-I don't really care either way on the aim down the sight... no matter what the perks will have something in them that no matter how balanced it actually is someone will claim OP.

-They need to expand the combat record and bring back the Gametype specific scores in game... in domination I like to know my captures, same with CTF, and in kill confirmed it would be nice to know how many kills I have indeed confirmed ( and denied! ).

-If my playercard creator you mean the one from black ops then YES... I want my rainbowdash emblem back.

-Dogs I don't really care either way, especially since it the future it seems almost obsolete.

-The thing about hit detection is with a P2P FPS you have to account for lag both ways and make it as fair as possible, networked games are really a lie and you have to realize there is no such thing as real time so even if you pulled the trigger first you might not have since all games have artitical "LAG" of data behind by anywhere from 80ms all the way up to 500ms! This way they hope each player gets the same update on screen at the same time, even though it all happened a bit ago.

-The way to avoid unbalanaced guns is to when the community finds and OP gun and all go HEY THIS GUN IS OP AND IT IS OBVIOUS they just nerf it( which treyarch is better about than IW ), also sometimes people need to realize most used doesn't always translate to OP, maybe just well balanced for the common persons playstyle.

Or just keep the difference in kills between KS's small as it is much harder to get an 18 or so KS using gun alone without dieing. It also helps avert camping. I notice less camping in MW3 because killstreaks can help you get more, while having to only use your gun adds more danger so people start to camp when closer to a KS.

-KS counting markers to show you how close you are, it is nice to see one kill away so you flashbang the next corner before running around it.

-KILL CONFIRMED! IT IS AWESOME!

ADD

-Custom helmets, vests, pouches, etc. i.e, much like custom armor in halo reach. It would add a lot more

than face paints.

-Balanced amount of assault rifle types, i.e 4-auto, 4-semi, 4-burst instead of 9-auto, 2-burst, 1-semi

-Balanced amount of weapon types, 12 rifles, 10 smgs, 8 machine guns, 8 snipers or just at least less difference than a range of 4-15 or so. More like 6-12.

-Awesome stats on leaderboards like black ops. Kill confirmed should be Kills/Confirms/Death/Denials.

-Better ragequit deterents and better dashboard deterents. 3 quits in an hour 15 minue penatly to join game. 3 dashboards = day ban. Continued offense = longer ban. I hate getting like 4k xp/score then the host kicks his xbox out a window ( dashboards ) and I lose all those stats!

REMOVE
-Deathstreaks, you are punishing those who are doing well.

-Any form of last stand EVER!

-Rapid fire ( all it does is make a gun way to powerful, especially smgs at close range )

-Knife ( or just knife lunge... it just really annoys me when someone runs through my shotgun blast to the face

and knifes me )

-Aim assist, as it does more bad than good and is fundamentally flawed when in a more than one on one combat situation, i.e 1v2 as the one guy has to aim at one then shift his aim, while the second guy on the other side just aims and get that initial SNAP onto your target that was near your reticle.

-Quick scope, I hate when I have a shotgun at close range and shoot them and they live then they one shot me with a sniper... AT FACE TO FACE distance, the shotgun should win otherwise don't even bother having them.

-face paint, it just didn't add anything

CHANGE

-CoD Points, either make all guns/perks available at any level or don't have them at all. Also attachments should use weapon leveling like mw3.

-For prestige tokens, the double xp items should be permenant additions, they prestiged already who cares if it takes half time to get to the next prestige, otherwise remove them and give better rewards

NOTES

-So the removing OP weapons is a balancing issue, not a remove item.

-Lag compensation exists in all CoDs just some are better or more noticable.

-Grenade launches are fine if balanced well, also blast sheild helps a lot.

-I don't mind a few killstreaks on support as it gives the guy running in onto capture points/taking out enemy air support a chance to get some kills after putting himself in more danger than others and most likely dieing will others camp out back to get some nice killstreaks.

-Also switching weapon fire modes isn't a CoD feature, everyone would just switch to full auto each time. The different modes on guns as it is allows for a nice variety ( even if they don't always take advantage of it )

-No weapon DLC unless it is free as it will potentially create a division of players, even if balanced people will claim the paid weapons are better.

-create your own camo would only work if it was preset templates then you chose 2-3 colors for it. Such as the digital camo and chose light grey, grey, black. or blue, red, purple... etc.

-I like the option to not join game in progress, though this could be averted by not letting you join games over half over.
