If they were gonna find out that their "worldwide" datacenters were gonna be this bad of a problem then they would have fixed it in the first couple weeks of release. As per your questions

1. Most likely since you will be playing with people in your area insted of 1000+ miles away

2. No its not possible. Youll have to start all over again.

3 Most likely never.

4. I have the complete opposite experience. Whenever im in a lobby with someone with 120+ ping they usually dominate everyone.

5.Most likely not. With ping that bad youd probably need 100mb up/down to get a decent ping.

Re: Dedicated Servers--Will they come back?

Most likely never. Theyve already said numerous times that they wont be releasing server files so not well never see rented dedicated servers, not even unranked one. And the way treyarch sees it they gave us the "dedicated" servers we wanted and just force us to connect to them by matchmaking since all severall are geographically in the same location eliminating a need for server browser as well.

Its more or less the death knell that was dealt to the pc version. Tbh i hate to say it but its the pc versions own fault in a way even though they could have prevented what happened every way possible.

1. Started with CoD4 with cracked server files = free game for a mass load of people + people could just set their servers to never update to bypass any patch for it (this could have been easily prevented by the devs)

2. Not sure if this happened with WaW as well but id assume so.

3. "Power hungry admins" but this is just sad on the devs part since all they had to do what check on server activity for legit bans off those servers (meaning broken server rules ect) and if they found evidence of people doing nothing wrong and being banned for it they could send a warning to the admins of those servers and if nothing was done they could for shutdown the servers.

4. This goes along with #3 in some ways since admins will hack or allow hacks on their servers. Once again all the devs has to do was keep an eye on stuff but whatever.

So in reality its the pc players own fault for the many bad pc players that ruined the game for us. While i hate how pc is treated by them as well it only makes sense for a company to protect their game by locking it down as tightly as possible.

I get FPS anywhere from 110 to 30 and sometimes ill even bottom out at low as 10. The Quake Engine that CoD is built on factors your packets in with however much FPS youre at divided by 2 or something along those lines. The "sweet spot" for the quake engine is 121-125 FPS which gives you the max amount of data sent and retrieved along with other things but if your FPS flucuates alot even as small as 10 FPS your gonna hit the worst spots of the engine which give the worse performance. This is where your bad hit reg comes from alot probably just like it does for me.

Re: SHOULD WE STOP BUYING NEW COD GAMES?

I bought CoD4 yesterday. Always wanted to play it on my own pc and the only other time i played it was at a friends on a normal TDM server. After i finished installing it i tweaked the graphics a bit to match my monitor and vid card. Jumped on a TDM server and found myself enveloped in a nearly flawless netcoding but just a slight off hit detection (was in a 40-50ms ping server).

I backed out of the game went to the config file and found myself in a refreshing page where i could EDIT HOW THE GAME PERFORMS TO MY LIKING. I tweaked a few things like Snaps, FoV, maxfps, maxpackets, Rate, etc. After doing these slight tweaks i jumped back on to the same server and found it even closer to perfection. I even got to experience a hacker get instantly banned from the server along with 5+ previously banned hackers trying to join the server to just get denied access.

After i finished with the match i always wondered what it would be like to play in a real Promod server. I decided to join one and got swiftly shown what true skill is in a CoD. It took me over 3 hours before i could even remotely compete with others. I found myself wondering how could such an insanely made game such as CoD4 for the pc be turned into complete crap in the later CoDs?

After spending so much time on BO2, getting frustrated a stupid amount of times because of how bad the netcoding and hit detection is and reaching prestige master i finally got fed up. CoD4 is a completely new and better experience. No Bullshit, better community, no "bad admins" in any of the servers i joined that people speak of on the forums and in other places.

CoD4 is a TRUE pc FPS and how its supposed to be played. The only reason i would ever touch BO2 now is if my friends ask me to play with them. I got my moneys worth out of it and i hope others will realize that CoD has become nothing more than a money maker for the devs and should realize that the way they treat the people who made the CoD franchise so big deserve better.

Im assuming this means using auto fire macros, instant 360 macros, or any macros that remove the persons reaction from the equations is a bannable offense. now macros for setting knife or prone to a macro button on a mouse wont be bannable. All youre doing is keymapping the action.

Recently my other monitor died on me (it was a 5ms response monitor) so i bought a monitor off my friend who didnt need it. He didnt have much info on it other than that its a 1920x1080 monitor and i cant find any info on my monitor either. The monitor is an LG FLATRON EW234. Now with this monitor ive been having alot worst luck on BO2. Im being insta killed alot more and my shots are registering a whole lot less. I have to shoot nearly a whole clip into someone now before i can get a kill most of the time.

Now i heard somewhere a while ago that response rate on a monitor can affect a whole mass of things in games. Hit reg being one of them. What do you guys think about this? If my monitor say has a 8ms (just a guess) would that affect my hit reg and being insta killed that much over a 5ms monitor?

Re: Black Ops 2 has failed on PC

This is too true. CoD4 was the most popular FPS in its day and molded the franchise we know today. CoD4 in its day peaked at roughly 20,000 owned server world wide. Now were diminished to a single data center in the US and who know where else. CoD started on the PC and is gonna be ultimately taken down by its console ways its gone to. They treat their consumers who built the franchise like dirt. This is a quote from vondehaar before the release of BO2 "We are going back to our PC roots." Blatant lie right there. Were lucky we have lean and FoV. Back in the day playing on PC had tons of advtanges, Mapping tools, Mod tools, Server files, Promod, you name it we could do it.

This game had SO much unbelieveable potential its pathetic. Imagine the current zombie system redone by an admin and turned into an epic new game mode that would be available to everyone. I myself have already come up with tons of ideas for zombies alone but theyre just ideas and will never be put into motion because pc has no benefits anymore.

Treyarch/IW have lost their true player base. Even i reinstalled BO1 to see the difference between these "dedicated servers" and rentable dedicated servers and the difference is huge. BO1 doesnt even have good servers and they are 100x better than the crap we have in BO2.

Bottom line is BO2 and future CoD's are complete trash and its time to move on.
