Yeah, moving is not really an option. I spoke more with my broadband provider, it's because of high utilisation in my area unfortunately, so moving would probably would actually fix it!

Just need to wait for them to upgrade my local exchange or something...

My nat type is open.

I don't have AV at the moment (temporarily). I tried stopping all non essential services and disabling windows firewall.

Nothing. Still the same.

Is there no way of checking my connection from in the game?

Could it be because I have only bought DLC pack 1 maybe? I am being punished for not investing in the game

If it's not tha game, and not the game network, what elese could it be?

Is there some other aspect to my internet connection, other than speed, that could cause this issue of not connecting to < 150 ping games?

Thanks DarkAssassin00x, I have tried NAT type strict and open, it doesn't seem to make much difference. Which is best btw? Shamefully, I do not curently have a firewall running so this should not be affecting things...

I am hoping to find an answer to why I consistently only connect to servers with a high ping.

I have 120Mb (yes one hundred and twenty megabit) broadband. I go to speendtest.net and it is between 115 and 125mb. Then I try tio play MW3, and I can't connect to a server with less than 100 ping.

Why?

Is it a problem with the game, or the game network? Or is it a problem with my broadband? Maybe the speed is good but the latency is too high or something. I don't know.

All I know is that I have consistently poor experience with this game. I've played COD since the very first COD like a decade or more ago. Never had I had such frustration. But every time I speak to my broadband providor they say it is not them as the speed is always high...

Please advise. Is there anything I can do in the game to monitor the network speed I get or anything?

Can anyone please offer any advice?

I've got a 30Mb (thirty megabit!) broadband connection, everything is *extremely* fast....except MW3!

I cannot ever connect to a host with less than ~150 ping. Every single time a play I can only connect to terrible hosts, which is RUINING the game.

My NAT type is open. I'm playing on a PC.

Please can someone tell me how I can connect to good hosts.

I've been playing COD since the first version about a decade ago. I've had lots of different ISPs and broadband speeds in that time, but never has the gameplay been this terrible.

I am hoping someone can help, or at least provide some information.

I have a 30Mb internet connection. I go to speedtest.net and get ~31Mb, then I start to play MW3 immediately after and yet I cannot connect to a host under 125 ping!

Every game I play is terrible because my connection is so poor. But I've got better broadband than I've ever had! Seriously, it's like trying to play it over dial-up! Even when I am the host it is terrible.

So I want to know if it is a configuration issue perhaps? My NAT type is currently open, is this best for performance? I don't host private matches so would NAT closed be better?

Is there any way to test what connection speed I actually get in game?

I've been playing Call of Duty since the first game came out. I've played every game in the franchise and usually buy it as soon as it comes out. I've never had this problem before, even years ago when I had 2Mb broadband connection...But this is enough to make me never play it again

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Ridiculously poor hosts

I've just done a speedtest.net check on my broadband connection - 31Mb.

And yet, I've been trying to play MW3 this morning for over an hour and haven't been able to connect to a host with less than 100ms ping!

It's as if I have 3mb broadband not 30mb!

Why? Do I need to configure my router in a certain way? My NAT type is currently open, is this best?
