I have no objection to campers, per say. Play the game any way you want. If you are sniping, well, you camp. Although I don't consider sniping camping. It is all part and parcel of what someone with a scope and a sniper rifle does. Run around with a sniper rifle and all you do is get hosed. So, this ISN'T camping and if you feel it is, I disagree with you.

It could also be, the person camping is new and doesn't know how to play.

Most of the first person shooters typically play the same way. Players congregate where "everyone is moving to". Each game has a hot zone and how to get there. Smart players hang around the approaches and hose you down as you attempt to get to the hot zone. Other players find good spots in the hot zone and kill you as you attempt to do the same thing. Is this camping?

There are lots of solutions designed into the game to eliminate campers and snipers, and your opposing team, if they know what they are doing, will do it for you. The typical solutions are:

1) RC Bang-a-bong thing
2) Nuclear Tipped Crossbow
3) Tactical Insertion
4) Switch class and take a well placed sniper shot of your own!
5) Noob Tube the guy with an RPG

# 1 , #2 and #3 are purposely designed for just this function.

Finally, I have a pat solution to any BAD game I am in .... I Back Out. If you are up against a wolf pack, who spawn kill, lag switch, modded controller or what ever it is that makes the game completely unplayable and no fun for you ... LEAVE. Why get aggravated. Seriously? Just back out and find a better group to play with.

If you are 2 kills and 10 deaths and you are a few minutes into the game, time to go. Don't let someone who doesn't know how to play, or a clan ruin your experience.

What ever the case, if it spoils the game, back out, problem solved.

How about..... Modern Warfare 3: More-of-the-same Ops.

That is really all this game is. The weapons all pretty much balance out. Add in some Nice toys like the ballistic knife, nuclear tipped crossbow and RC Bang-a-Bong, every game needs a TOMAHAWK!, The Rolling Stones and HYPE GALORE and you have..... nothing that even resembles Black Ops when you play Multi-Player.

Where are the Black Ops?

Where are the tight wire acts in Multi-Player?

Where can you throw someone off a balcony in Multi-PLayer?

The HYPE machine was on STEROIDS, and .... I see no Vietnam, no Black Ops, not much of anything other than a much better version of Modern Warfare 2 for Multi-Player.

So, there ya go..... that is my alternate name.

Yea, I am around but every time I come here, I leave and don't come back. Nothing changes. The site still looks and works like hell!!!

Slow as ever.

My PS3 broke. 2nd time in two years, just AFTER warranty and SONY did nothing for me. So, my stats were on that box and it is FRIED.

I have to figure a way to get back into the game. On the new PS3, every time I sign in, it tells me the account is already taken. WELL DUUUH! No kidding!

I feel your pain, I went Level 5 Prestige and was going to stop there because I simply liked the level 5 symbol. Best of the lot. Treyarch has managed to turn my stomach against the game and them so, you will only see me on here occasionally, I have nothing of value to really contribute any more. Maybe when they do something with W@W, I might come back and have some fun again.

I see they have been sleeping with Microsoft. OOOOooooooooooooooh! Maps only available on XBoX for the first month. Wow, if you have an XBOX, you must really feel special.

This type of marketing just makes me hate Microsoft even more. The last thing it makes me want to do is buy XBOX. Does anyone on PS3 even care. When the maps for Black Hype come out on PS3, it still remains a level playing field for PS3 players and only serves to piss them off at Treyarch and Microsoft for the NEGATIVE marketing. Stupid idiot companies.

World at War is a GREAT GAME!!! I stopped playing a couple of months ago due to a meltdown of my PS3. Having trouble signing on with the Frakking replacement box.

The reason why no one plays it anymore is because Treyarch started to kill it about a year ago. No stats updates, forum degeneration etc.

They wanted your money and for you to play Black Ops. Pretty simple. So, W@W gets zero support. It had its day.

Since I haven't tried it out in a bit, I can't comment on how bad it is to get a game.

Sad story, as this is a great game that could easily be revivved with new programming, theatres of war and new graphics. Hell, they could easily use the Black Ops engine and reskin the players and do a WWII theme.

Black Ops is just a marketing name, there are no "BLACK OPS" per say, in the mult-player game! Just hype.

PS: I edited this after my post.... I have not been on here in ages due to the way Treyarch treated W@W and this forum. I see nothing has changed! No ranks, no stats updates, nothing. They have simply removed everything. Good for them!

It is just numbers, I can't imagine the over head on it being massive and I see the game is still selling well in stores. The price has dropped to $30 and I see the stock continually turn over. But, No, they have to kill it, but still take your money, but want you to really move to Black Ops.

In my opinion, W@W continues to be a great game that could have been made even better. World War 2 was barely covered by it and it could easily be expanded to be much more. So many good suggestions were made in this forum over the last few years. All fell on deaf ears.

But, the Suits at Crap-toe-vision prefer to continue to soak you for $60 on this tried and true formula. I can't imagine what is next.

Anyway, I barely come on here any more and can't remember the last time I played W@W. Completely lost interest. Thanks JD and CRAP-O-Vision. Greatly appreciated.

The new games out there by other companies offer a good change of pace. I wouldn't be so heavy on BO, except for the fact they screwed everyone who enjoyed W@W on purpose and, by the way they did it.

iPhone stats don't work, but...... $360,000,000 in game sales for CRaPtivion on opening day of sales for Modern Warfare 3: BO. Maybe they can put some of that money back in to fixing the forum....

I am sure you just love everything Activision shoves down you throat. And, that is OK for you.

OK, my curiosity got the better of me today and I gave Black Ops a run. My first observations are, we were served a nice pile of hype.

In multiplayer, all that rappelling, wire gliding etc doesn't exist. I have tried to throw someone off a ledge but that doesn't exist either. It was all trailer hype.

Game play?

Well, it is just like Modern Warfare 2. Spawn, get killed, Spawn get killed. The game is incredibly convoluted to get to know right away. I tried TDM and had some fun with it but it is nothing like World at War and everything like MW2. You just run around these concrete compounds and shoot or get shot.

All the stupid rapid fire modern weapons are there, woop-dee-do. Rocket Launchers, sniper guns etc. All that is missing is the MP40.

This game is called BLACK OPS. For the life of me, I see no Black Ops, no theme, no nothing. It is a major let down for me.

You would think the rewards system would be really cool, the graphics kick ass.... nada. Bland, unimaginative and it gives you no incentive of wanting to get any kind of score. Stats are almost worthless other than to get better weapons. Once that is done, who cares.

Stick and Stones will break your wallet. If there was ever a stupid game, this is it. You have a nuclear tipped arrow and a ballistic knife. I have never heard of either and can't master them to save my life although I did win one match and got a trophy. You run around chasing 5 other guys and shot the cross bow and hope to blow them up. Before you start you wager some fake money. Seriously! Does it get any more boring. I kept doubling down and no one would double their $10 bet.

I tried the other money games and they seem stupid after a while of play as well. This game is going to set a record with me for boring me to tears right from the get go. All this game is, basically, is HYPE and the next level of Modern Warfare 2. Save your money.

They could have done so much more with World at War and still can. Instead, they do a major hemorrhage on the stats and put a game with huge potential out on the vine to die. So many cool battles could still have been covered!

Casino
Arnhem
Hedgerows of France
Normandy landings
Kursk
Stalingrad
etc

The medals system could have been greatly enhanced. Instead, they hype this Black Ops to death and the game is going to become boring so fast I can't believe it. Part of the excitement of a shooter is having sniper spots, places to hunker down that are a challenge to take out etc.

Non of that in Black Ops. The only real excitement I got was using a sniper rifle in Nuke Town or what ever they called it. They have two buildings that face each other separated by a bus and a truck and you can shot it out, second floor to second floor. It is a real dumb ass map with mannequin that just stand there like the ones in the windows of clothing stores. You can actually knife or shot an arm off them. Very exciting.

Seriously, Black Ops blows.

This is my first impression.

The only cool experience I had was that little remove control car thingy. That lived up to all the hype. I have no idea how I got it. I only got it once and I blew up two guys with it at once. My only Black Ops thrill. Basically, when you get it, you have like a 3rd Person view and drive it all over the map looking for someone to blow up. Yawn. Fun once or twice. All the gimmicks really don't impress me.

I heard a lot of complaining online as well.

This is my first impression!

Hooo-agh ! Honestly, if you are sitting on the fence, save your money. This game is a loser. Forget the hype, you will be bored with it in a week. I found nothing in it to really make me want to play it again because it was simply too much like Modern Warfare 2. Plain an simple, and I feel I gave it a good, honest working over.

Sorry, very disappointed with the game.

When are the World at War stats going to be completed????? April since the last update. I am Prestige 5 and Level 25 or something. Even that stopped working. This whole site is basically a bust right now. And, I am still complaining about this stupid White on Black. No one does this any more, it went out in the late 80's and these clowns bring it back because of marketing??? It hurts my eyes every time I come here.

And, we are currently having "maintenance problems" so the site experience will be better!! Oh ya, I will hold my breath on this one!

The Weapon stats have not worked right since last April. Treyarch basically sat on each others thumbs when it came to this. They are hiding behind the "Black Ops is taking all our time" excuse. All BS.

There was nothing wrong with the way the stats worked. They kept track of your weapons stats nicely and I believe they had a crash and couldn't recover and gave up and won't come clean on why this forum is now the dogs morning walk.

Well, not much has changes around here since I stopped frequenting on a regular basis:

a) no stats update since April

b) Rank is all wrong, I am P5 and level 25

c) I see nothing has changed here in months

My disgust with Treyarch grows even deeper.

April was the last time this site worked properly.

After that..... just send Treyarch your money for Black Ops. Don't complain, just send them money.

I haven't been around for a couple of months. I came in to see if the site was fixed...... WASTE OF TIME.

The BLACK skin makes me vomit as well. Stupid marketing. This white on black went out in the 80's for X sake. And, what it has to do with World at War is anyones guess.

Don'e expect to see any fixes. This is called DIE ON THE VINE. They want you to give them more money for Black Ops until they plan to stick it to you again with the successor!

Check out the numerous threads on this topic. I think some of the really good ones have been censored and deleted!

Yes, there are many threads and tons of bad blood. Me included.

In fact, the stats handling by Treyarch is a total joke, in my opinion.

Try to find the threads. The even threatened to BAN people if they COMPLAINED about it further.

In other words, don't play World at War any more, just send them money for Black Ops and keep them happy.

I haven't been around in a couple of months as this place basically bored me to tears due to the lose of the stats. I come back, nothing has changed. Pretty pathetic.

As soon as someone figures out how to HACK Black Ops, I may buy a copy. Look for me at the top of the Leaderboard for it.

Why would I waste my time with Black Ops when the next game shows up and everything you like dies on the vine because all they really care about is getting you to pay for the next mistake.

It is not about money. How much does it cost for them to keep this web site up?? You have to have it for Black Ops so letting World at War continue to run is no big deal. It was all planned to kill what enthusiasm remains for a great game.

Black Ops.... Treyarch.... Activision.... they can BYTE ME. If they had left World at War alone, and kept the site working, I would have had no animosity. I can't stand the smell of them any more. Medal of Honour for me. YOU give them YOUR hard earned money.

I will keep playing it.

I still say, you will be just as tired of Modern Warfare 3: Black Ops as you were of Modern Warfare 2.

It will be hacked the same way.

It will get just as tired just as fast.

Well, I have been gone over a month, and I see so much has improved in my absence. No wait.... NOTHING has CHANGED. Still Same-old-S. Weapons stats are still all F'd Up.

Are the Fan Boys in the Modern Warfare 3: Black Ops forum still posting their, "I want to get rid of the MP40 and no Jugg and I want.... "?

If my choice of citizenship somehow makes you feel "superior", you need to give your heads a shake as you clearly have more serious issues than anything you may think I may have.
