Black Ops 2 clearly was developed for a slightly younger demographic than BO1. This game was not made for adults. The cheese factor is so through the roof with things like easy-mode snipers, no recoil LMGs, target finders, shock charges, 2 hit kills from pistols at medium ranges...the list goes on. There's so many annoying equipment/weapons/etc to exploit and spam. And they mostly cater to one or both of the following:

1) Kids who want to go for 360 no scopes in objective games

2) Sweaty diamond SMG/Ghost/Lightweight tryhards to stroke Treyarch's 'e-sports' agenda.

Failure of a game, in my opinion.

But if you're posted up somewhere in an objective game and defending a highly contested area like a bomb site or hardpoint and don't move for awhile, you'll never hear 'camper' from me.

If you are sitting in a corner ADS at a door or line of sight for an entire match away from objectives, you play like a d-bag. They don't need to be completely useless. But you shouldn't be able to run around a large map like Cargo with a Tac 45 and post a 3 KD score. It shouldn't be possible save for against the worst of enemies. I mean the ranges you get taken out by these things is ridiculous. The B23 and Kap40 I can understand a bit of mid-range prowess, but the Tac and Five Seven??? I'm pumping AR bullets into someone and they tap dance through my bullets for a 3 shot pistol kill at a range that is just jaw dropping most of the time.

If secondaries have to be as good (if not better) than many primaries simply because they 'cost a point', your class system is broken and very poorly designed.

Of course the powerful secondaries was probably a very intentional decision, just another thing to eliminate any kind of skill gap and tactical decision-making for the player that Treyarch labels 'balance'.

Come get B with me or GTFO.

Although, I guess I'm a big hypocritical, in that if I keep jumping on B and taking death after death with no help, I quit jumping on it and just leave or accept that we are going to lose.

They want everyone, that bought the game, to be able to play. I just know that some connections should not be allowed. Prime example.... cell phone tethering.

I'd imagine Treyarch wishes they could tighten things up as developers. At that point it probably enters the realm of politics with Activision. They likely have pressure from Activision to ensure just about anyone/anywhere can play hence they probably have to ensure they accomodate for sub-par connections, and I would imagine they understand fully the impact it has on quality of play. It's just not something they can parade around as an answer to questions.

The day or so after a patch still seems to cause a lot of WTF moments. There's some sessions when I'm in a party where I can't seem to do any better than a crappy 3-bar, but solo I'm generally a happy 4 bar with the occasional string of WTF moments.

This game seems to run more consistently for me than MW3 did in it's prime.

How dare they. How dare they find another way to to appeal to consumers of their product. That's the reason the economy is the crapper, these people who want to make a profit. That's the real problem. Everything should be free, and all consumers are entitled to such freebies.

I think doing everything you can to have a 'clean connection' will help. It may not be night and day, but it may be. Here's an example:

Since MW3 I was running the same internet and modem from TWC. I have my own router. I did all the research about going to a wired connection, port forwarding, giving my Xbox a static IP, using Google's DNS servers, putting my Xbox in DMZ, turning off SPI, and did it all. Black Ops 2 felt really rough at the beginning but seemed to even out for me where it plays somewhat consistent solo. Party-play can be a tossup, and the few days after a new patch always lag badly for me.

The other day I decided to see about trading in my modem for a new once, since I've had it for 3 years and surely TWC is giving out newer/better ones standard these days. So I got a new modem (the Motorola Surfboard router/modem combo) and got my speed upgraded a little.

Took the modem home and got it setup, forwarded my ports, basically everything I had done before. I did some pingtests and noticed my ping was wildly inconsistent. Tried the game, and it played awful. It was like the second I saw someone I was already taking damage. 4 bar connection, too. So I read up and tried some tweaks on the Motorola, to no avail. I felt constantly disadvantaged, and I knew it had to be my ping or something.

So I decided to put the Motorola into bridge mode (disabling the router and using it as a modem only) and reconnect my old router with all the same settings. The game now plays smoothly like it did before.

Moral of the story, make sure your connection is as clean as you can get it before you start blaming the game. (But the game is to blame on MANY occasions, not denying that). Do due diligence and forward ports and stuff. At least then you'll know you've done everything you can.

If you run out in the open and see someone head glitching in that instant before you start taking damage, run away and take cover. Or pop off a few shots, if you don't get the kill, pull out. Try and think of having a 'fuse' for your gunfights if you get the feeling someone has the advantage. Start getting uncomfortable after your first several shots if you don't get the kill, and pull out if you are exposed in anyway, or know the guy has a target finder or sniper rifle. Will save a ton of deaths.
