I (used) to kill Famas users all the time. I could kill them with uzis, ballistic knives, shotguns, tomahawks, etc. I just found it really boring. There was almost an 100% chance that I would get into a game where the vast majority of all the players would be using some sort of assault rifle, most likely a Famas. I didn't like that, it got boring so quickly. There is only so many times you can kill a FAMAS user over and over again before it stops being fun.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
I miss the times where I actually had to worry about snipers on the edge of a hill, laying down covering fire on their enemies while their teammates would run around with SMGs and flank. I miss having to worry about turning every corner because some guy with a shotgun could be on the other side. I miss that feeling you get when you are pinned down by someone with an LMG, and you can't even stand up because a bullet is flying through your window every quarter second.&lt;br/&gt;

True adaptation isn't just bending over and saying, "OK, every single person is using an assault rifle, so lets all just accept that fact and all use assault rifles!" Adaptation is having to avoid an area a sniper is in because you know he can take your head off if you turn that corner. Adaptation is having to avoid large areas because you are using a shotgun. Adaptation is knowing that there is that one guy with a shotgun patrolling that building, so you better be ready for him. I really miss the diversity of all the weapon groups getting use. With the sudden influx of certain groups just being flat out better than others, it really diminishes their use, and it's not because I can't handle FAMAS users that I hate it, it's because I never actually have to challenge myself to adapt to other types of weapons. I actually enjoy being sniped in BLOPS. It makes me think more.&lt;br/&gt;

theres no need to apologize for a long post. and atleast you understand what adaptation means. But honestly i dont know what games you are playing in... maby your pc or ps3? because on the xbox i see people using many many different guns, i see the G11 and galil more then the famas, and i see SMG users. As for shotty and sniper users. i have to say that i see snipers less then the other ones but thats the way it should be imo, i still see them more then enough tho. as far as shotties go... i rarely see those, possible due to the fact that shotties are a tad bit underpowered. dont get me wrong im not arguing simply to argue. if i saw what your seeing i would probably have a problem with the Famas as well, but i dont.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br/&gt;

I'm on PS3. And I haven't played in a while, so maybe things have changed, but the last time I played, there were a bunch of people using assault rifles, which just gets really stale to me, like I said.&lt;br/&gt;

Also, even when people use other guns, I just personally feel like they are inferior, so they shouldn't have as much of an advantage as they should. Snipers aren't the fantastic distance weapon they used to be, even the L96 gets hitmarkers all the time, and their penetration is quite frankly crap.&lt;br/&gt;

Really, the only way I ever saw to fix this huge overuse of assault rifles was to either nerf the assault rifles, preferably by adding something like idle sway, or maybe even having less damage up close, or slightly more recoil, or something, or buffing the weaker weapons, which would probably be a better idea. Anyways, I guess in the end I did have fun. I honestly thought the BLOPS campaign was the best so far, but that's probably because I'm so gullible and was completely blown away when *SPOILER* was actually dead at the end of the game. Probably everyone knows this already, but just in case...&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Multiplayerwise, I liked some thinks. Dolphin diving was a cool gimmick I guess, but almost completely useless unless people either aimed at your feet or whatever. Perk balance was decent, but weapon balance I obviously hated. Lag and hit detection are actually pretty good for me, and I even play on PS3. I've never really had a moment where I thought, wow, I should be hitting this guy.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Then I went to my friends house and played it on Xbox, and I almost threw the controller through his TV. Ironically enough, my PS3 plays BLOPS better than his xbox.&lt;br/&gt;

What makes an smg is that they are a smaller, more compact weapon for cqc use. They are generally less powerul and less accurate than an ar.&lt;br/&gt;

Well, for realism, it would make sense. &lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
But we're going for balance. Having pointless or simply worse weapons is not good for balance. Having any one gun dominate the others is not good for balance, no matter how much it would make sense in real life. There are too many unrealistic factors in this game to base facts SOLELY on realism. Accept that. SMGs should generally fire faster than all ARs while having moderate damage. Basically be efficiant close range and usable mid range.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br/&gt;

Adding on to this, if we wanted realism, SMGs should:&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Turn faster (Weigh less)&lt;br/&gt;
Fit in smaller spaces (Easier to get through doorways because the actual gun is smaller)&lt;br/&gt;

The famas is great if you dont want variety. And I agree with that in the sense that if you use one weapon constantly, you are going to get the feel of that weapon and most likely get better with it the more you use it.&lt;br/&gt;

But personally, I like variety. &lt;br/&gt;
I use all the classes I can and choose them depending on the map, and what tactics I'm going to use.&lt;br/&gt;
For me .... the famas just doesnt suit any of those purposes.&lt;br/&gt;
If I want mobility , I'm going to use a smg, and not waste a perk to get it. &lt;br/&gt;
Sure .... a guy using a famas and lightweight may have a mobility edge on me ..... but I'll be running through claymores and shaking off grenades while he dies from them.&lt;br/&gt;
Or if I'm using an ar&amp;#160; I may use ghost, hardline or fj&amp;#160; to get an edge on the guy with the smg.&lt;br/&gt;

People cry they want balance ............. well a couple things here.&lt;br/&gt;
Perfect balance would mean everyone has the exact same weapons and perks ............... boooring.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
But what we have to make it interesting is a rock/paper/scissors balance.&lt;br/&gt;
Everything can be countered by something ...... but not necessarily in every situation.&lt;br/&gt;
We have so many choices that we can keep every game in a little suspence.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
And they do throw in some multipurpose weapons that can take on each of the rock paper and scissors, but its like using a light rock, perforated paper and dull scissors.&lt;br/&gt;
A light rock may take&amp;#160; both paper and scissors, but a heavier rock is going to take it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
I really do want variety as well, I promise you. It pisses me off to see only one weapon, or if not one weapon, one small portion of one weapon group being used. But while perfect weapon balance may never be achievable without making all weapons the same, weapon balance is definitely achievable without resorting to such extreme measures.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
I find it interesting that everybody talks about how it would be super terrible if all the weapons were the same, and that it would be really boring if that were true, when that's basically what we have right now. So many weapons have ridiculous numbers of similarities that it's pretty much identical. And I don't count having a different model or reload animation as being a different weapon. For example, the AK47 and Commando are completely 100% identical except the commando's reload is slightly faster. Some weapons are just straight up worse versions of other weapons, and that's not what I want.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
True balance to me isn't having all the weapons have the same damage output, or having all the weapons operate the same, or even having all weapons take the same amount of skill level to use. Balance to me is having each weapon not only being unique, but also being viable and practical in usual situations. So for example, I don't really consider the ballistic knife to be all that practical, but whatever, it's a novelty, and it's a one hit kill, so it's ok. But if it was a 2 shot kill, for example, there would be something seriously wrong with that.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
And I also use these varied classes like you do. I have basically the same amount of kills with all the weapons, because I get pretty bored only using one, and the 1911 pistol is actually my number 3 weapons in terms of kills. &lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
And with the subject of perks, I tend to use perks to increase my weapon's advantages, instead of trying to make up for their disadvantages. So for example, I'll often use hardened on LMGs, instead of sleight of hand, because I can deal with having slow reloads, and that way I can get more penetration kills. Unfortunately, hardened is pretty useless in blops, but oh well. I'll use either sleight of hand or steady aim on SMGs, so that I can enhance their fast aimspeeds or tighten their already tight hipfire.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
The only exception to this rule is that if a weapon has low ammo, I'll use scavenger. But that makes sense, right?&lt;br/&gt;

Sorry for the rant, but I'm pretty passionate about balance.&lt;br/&gt;

SMGs should be good at close range, while still having the ability to do damage out to medium range. They should have fast firerates, and high damage up close.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
ARs should be the jack of all trades. They shouldn't truly dominate in any particular category, but they should be able to hold their own at all ranges with some skill. At close range, they should be worse than SMGs and shotguns but better than LMGs and Snipers. Long range, they should be worse than snipers, preferably with idle sway, but way better than shotguns and smgs.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Shotguns should have massive damage up close, while sacrificing all ranged capabilities.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
LMGs should have very high damages and very high magazine capacities. They should have slow movement and aimspeeds to make them worse at close ranges.&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
Snipers should have high powered scopes and massive damage so that they dominate range. They should have some sort of way to make close range not very good.&lt;br/&gt;

And like I said, if you are playing against skilled opponents, you're never going to get these kinds of scores. You never see commentators posting videos of their double tactical nuke against their commentator friends, but always against randoms on domination or something.&lt;br/&gt;

Not pretending I'm amazing, and I think (hope) that I said in the description that the enemies weren't exactly the most amazing thing I've ever faced before.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
You're lucky you got bad opponents, otherwise you would've ended up 5-45 like you usually do.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
