You guys have proved your point, but they don't get the point. Do no buy their futrue titles if this is not what you desire. The AA-12 even failed on their DLC Collection 4 Trailer. I played online Chaos Moode and thought it would lag terrible, but actually I had no lag at all really, a few lag spikes here and there, runs better than survival that's for sure. So I am happy with that mode, and I would like to see it get into more maps. I've occasionally even played in lobbies with people even further away, like from Australia or Brazil for example. How can that be ? You leave way too much for the lag compensation to handle, if there were numbers instead of bars in game people would realise how much latency there is.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Where do i base this opinion of poor matchmaking being the root cause of lag on ? Well, I had good or nearly perfect matches with 1.19 on PS3 when it was released, now on 1.20 it's still playable most of the time but still laggy enough to frustrate me because i keep getting instakilled occasionally and cannot get consistent kills with guns that are meant to kill with either one bullet or burst,&amp;#160; it's just hitmarker after another. I noticed the slightly increasing lag even on 1.19, and since 1.20 was for providing terminal, it must come down to matchmaking. What i mean is, since many regions (luckily far away from me) did not have Terminal, there was better chances getting into a lobby with people that are not from the opposite side of the earth, and along with the lag comp improvements you provided it made the game a lot better.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I personally think that since you guys got on the right track with adjusting the lag comp with 1.19, and then when it had been available for some time and i started noticing a decline in the connection quality, i must have been because more and more people worked around not having Terminal by creating an another account to another region and downloading via that, the amount of players far away from me increased and i would be again matched more often with people living outside of europe.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You can also see this issue in earlier titles now which did not have any lag issues when in their prime. I've played some CoD4, WaW and MW2 lately and i have very similar issues like i have in MW3 (instakills, bending bullets, hits not registering which in a way decreases my weapon damage, and reduced amount of time to react) in all titles caused by lag. But this is understandable, if go on to CoD4 or MW2 during the day it's fine because the game can find people close to me to play, if do it at night with either title it's gonna lag because the amount people playing in my region is extremely low and i'm forced to be matched with people far away. WaW lags nearly all the time because so few people play that game anymore. But it's not understandable in a title like MW3 which has according to the game 500k people on all the time any time time of day, so matchmaking should be better. I can go on BO any time of the day and will run just fine, not perfect but still good because although that game too has issues and lag, it still usually finds me a decent match and it still has a lot of players.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You are defitenaly on the right track with the lag comp because i really did have a really good experience with 1.19 when it was introduced (1 burst kills close range with the M16 and Type 95, no BS hitmarkers with snipers, no instant deaths etc.), but the matchmaking issues which now again makes the game slightly worse should be addressed. There should not be people with 1-2 bars in a 50ms or 75ms lobby altogether, and especially not when the 1 bar connection is caused by too great distance to the host.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;p&gt;I noticed the same thing and Steve knows it because I posted my experience 2 days before 1.20. I should also note, in the time I played on 1.19, I saw no red or yellow bared people, just 3 and 4 green bars, occasisonally a person or two would dip to the lower bars, but would just come right back up. Everyone was american, I did best on Terminal than any other map, it just felt so smooth. I also believe the issue is 98% matchmaking, and they need to re-invent it's done. A simple select your country before playing online would go a long way. DML data isn't working correctly, and added DLC/playlist fractures, is why it's not able to work as it did in MW2. Theater may have contributed to the framrate issue on BO, as we see with Skyrim, memory allocation on the PS3 is critical. BO and MW3 probably pushed its limit,and the added strain could have affected the online connectivity of the game. I don't get framrate issues in MW3 as I did in BO. From what I can see, matchmaking influences greatly on the connection. Which MW3 struggles on, especially since I believe less people play the game, I have 1 friend on MW3, when I had MW2 everybody was on. In reality, cod is dying. Also, all the DLC, isn't helping. I think the developers know what is wrong, they are trying all they can to optimize, but it just can't be done. This mean that I was playing with people from the regions that had it, so actually this kept people from other countries and regions out of my matches. And today it's back to crap, 2 bar people in every lobby, lag. This game needs a region lock, dml data doesn't work, only 80% accurate, I can safley say the matchmaking is the cause of lag.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When you allow international gaming this is what happens, I say fracture the player base, because that also explains the why people have good matches hours after a patch, the player base gets fragmented. Now the only game type I played was Drop Zone, and if that playlist was sniper less, and had some dog tages, that would be probably my favorite playlist of all time. One thing I noticed, see I press select a lot to see my bars, and I had 3 green bars 99% of the time, and I always look for that bug when all players have 3 bars, and have seen it where occasionally everyone had 3 bars for maybe a second or two. If I play face-off mode, or team deathmatch, I noticed that everyone has 3 bars for minutes at a time, and in almost every game I play. So far Drop Zone is the only playlist that gives me MW2 connectivity. Maybe something to look at...&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When the game works it is really fun, I played for hours tonight, never rage quite once, maybe other should try Drop Zone...&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Edit - And one reason could be that Strike Packages are disabled per person. This means less updates to the host I am guessing. And you said "&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I think I've answered this before. &lt;strong&gt;Without getting into too many specifics the host client can display three bars under a number of circumstances. If the server frame overruns because there is a situation where too many things happen simultaneously, for example, an entire group hot join the match, however these occurrences should stabilize and be temporary. Another example would potentially be if the host, for some reason, was not sending regular updates out to the game clients and all packet traffic was getting backed up. This could be more consistent.&lt;/strong&gt; Lastly we currently allow split screen players with enough bandwidth to host. Analysis shows that this occurs in between 1-3% of games depending upon game type and time of play. Because SS clients run at a lower (just above half) FPS they can show up as three bars players. Also, I am not a hardcore fan that complains about pellets and perks because frankly I only stick to core. In regards to, groundwar on shipment, that is the most fun I have ever had in a shooter, I love that mode. I wish cod4 and mw2 were hack free, and I know Sony's console has its exploits and there is nothing you can do until the console is secured, I just hope you keep pressing sony to fix the jail-broken ps3's transfering moddified patches to ps3's running official sony firmware. This bypasses anthing you do, you could keep updating the patch, but the hackers would just get around it again and again. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;edit* - I had an idea to solve the issue, it was theory. But it would bem that when developers submit a patch to sony, they would do an md5 check and get a value on it, and the ps3 console would do an md5 check on every patch in the game data utility. And if the values didn't match, the patch would not work. So this would kill modified patches working online, of course when you add in dlc and theater, and other features, the md5 code would change and there would be many different values.
