I'm 54. Back in the early days of BBS's I had a 300 baud modem. A friend and I signed onto one of the dating BBSs. We got nothing for a couple days. Then we turned ourselves into chicks. Our inbox runneth over.

I watched 4-5 of these vids, what I see are a-holes. Blocking doorway? A-hole. How are they cheaters?

I did recognize the name I_didthat though, pretty sure I reported him for cheating.

Why do people hate campers so much? They kill you once, you know where they are and return the favor.

I suck at camping. If I want to sit in my La-Z-Boy and do nothing for several minutes I don't want a game controller taking up one of my hands.....

With the lag issues there ain't much you can do. This game is 90% luck, 10% everything else.

Over the past couple weeks I've noticed I almost always have a full set of bars, which used to indicate a decent chance at a good game. Now a full set of bars pretty much means I'm in a game, even if said game is hosted in Timbuktu and my packets are using fish on bicycles to cross the atlantic.

And no, it was not one of my teammate's AC-130s or reapers. It was an enemy scout I could not lock onto.

Reminds me of the end of MW2, when you could shoot at air power all you wanted and they just kept dropping chaff.

Seen wall hacks for a few months now. Saw an aimbot and a new cheat tonight.

First, on the game end cam, Terminal. Cheater is in the hallway, going from the plane to the lobby. See's a guy in the bookstore, does a clockwise 360, shoots, misses. Does a counterclockwise 280 or so, focuses on a guy on the roof, shoots, misses. Clockwise 270, focus on the first guy, hits for the win. This is in the final kill-cam, everybody in the game saw it. I reported it, don't remember his name.

Couple games later I was lucky enough to see a drone pop into the sky. I run with the stinger in all classes. Soon as that drone popped up I switched and tried to lock. No lock. Nobody shot me, for the whole 30 seconds that drone was in the air I kept trying to lock, switching weapons, trying to lock, etc. I could not lock on that drone and it finally flew away.

This game is most definately hacked now.

Dunno when it came out, it's been about a week since I fired up MW3. First thing I notice is that 4 bars act like 3 used to.

WTF Infinity Ward? People complain the lag is intolerable unless they have 4 bars, so you lower the bar? Wrong solution dude, you should be fixing problems instead of papering over them.

sigh. Prolly be 2 weeks til I fire it up again.

You're probably lagging like a mofo. Watch some killcams, it's not uncommon to be behind by up to half a second.

ProTip: In game press Select. If you have anything other than 4 bars just quit the game and join another.

Dang, here I thought there was a patch but it turns out to be a reply to a year old message. sigh.

I try to play 3-4 games every week or so, usually rage quit a minute into each match due to the lag. Seems to be worse than ever nowdays, it's like IW doesn't even pretend to try anymore.

Not to mention the cheaters that are becoming more and more common. Most provable are wall-hacks (snipers zoomed in on you 3 walls away as you climb stairs, head down a hallway, and blow your head off soon as you reach a window; and seems like I just can't hit certain people. People who end up with 40-50 kills in the game with 1-2 deaths).

Ping means a lot more than bandwidth, assuming you have decent bandwidth. MW3 isn't sending much data back and forth, unless your on dial-up you have plenty of bandwidth.

Trust me, if I could limit my connections to < 100ms I would. I even asked IW to give me that option, if the ping is > 100ms don't bother putting me in the game cuz I'm just gonna quit in a minute or so anyway.

Running 12 mbps down and 1 up. Speedtest.net shows I'm getting what I paid for. ping google.com -n 100 shows an average 26 ms ping, which IMHO is pretty good.

Those of you who don't suffer lag so bad, what's your network stats?

I suck because 90% of the time I'm on the wrong end of the lag curve. Hard to win when you're a good quarter second behind the action.

Takes forever (5 seconds) to activate, I lose maybe 1/3 of mine while trying to activate them. They deal the damage of a .22 LR, seems to take 7-8 hits to get a kill. Absolutely no penetration ability, if a kleenex is between your gun and your target, so sad too bad.

Trying to max out all my stats, I'm down to remote sentry and jaggernaut, which I also hate for other reasons and can understand why others may like it.

I doubt getting a new copy will help. The game has a bug IW either doesn't care about or can't fix. I get that noise every 10 hours or so. As an engineer I don't see why this would be a hard problem to fix.

Lag has hit a new low

Been about 6 weeks since I've played and I notice 2 new things about lag. First, the lag bars are off. Way off. I'm playing like I have 2-3 bars, yet it shows 4. Even better, I see others with the same issue. I kinda feel bad shooting someone so obviously lagging out, but better you than me.

Second, my Stingers won't shoot. Lock onto a target, get the lock indication, pull the trigger, and get "you must be locked on". Uh, you're telling me I'm locked on. Shoot the damned missle. This is a real pisser when you're shooting a helicopter, and they shoot you while you mash the damned shoot button. This happens maybe 50% of the time. Keep in mind I've maxed out my Stinger ratings. I like shooting down air support. I'm good at it.

Maybe related, not sure. I've noticed unkillable players. These guys rack up 30-40 kills a game without air support, only die 3-4 times, and when you run across them you can't get a hit, let alone a kill. I don't think they're cheating, I think they're on the right side of the lag curve.

Like, WTF? Is it time to sell this PoS so I'm not tempted to put it in anymore?
