I meant the additional content they were peddling to the "community", or "people" depending on the euphemistic terms used by some mods. Either way, " no fixed points, no sale" as Duffy Duck used to quack.

Actually, if you've been around the block as long as I did, and saw the world with my eyes, it would be a pretty shocking experience to your perception of reality. Let's just agree, that the site was abandoned for "the reason" whatever it might be. Then, I won't have to teach you some harsh facts of life. Computer game world is just pure fantasy with an option to reload.

It's all dollars and cents. They figured the cost of site fix wasn't worth the expenditure. Then, in response to numerous complaints, they spread some rumors through mods, that things would be fixed soon. Laughable, how these software companies think they are invincible in these recessionary times. I guess, it's about time for some reality check for these guys.

I hope for their sake, they were not on duty while filming that clip. JAG office might have classified such behavior as dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming a member of the armed forces.

I can't say I've ever heard of a case where someone rejects a game because of the gaming forum. I've known people refuse to go to a gaming forum because they disliked the game but...

The point of the forums is to discuss, not to see a number rise under your name. I hope points don't give you anything on that site; I hope it just shows post count and stops there. Anything more would just lead to elitism and draw back from the focus of the forum- discuss among other users at a equal level, because all in all, your word is just as good as anyone else's.

The transition from COD4 to WAW, then to BO meant a continuity of a saga that COD games once were in the past. It was a rewarding element to rise in ranks and gather badges. And, yes, it meant something. When I hear lame excuses that Treyarch was not responsible for site maintenance and it was Activision fault, then it is pathetic at best. Blame game is so pervasive in the corporate world, that dollars and cents dictate every move these companies make. FYI info, posting and participation in the forums were rewarded with these graphic perks. I, for that matter liked them a lot. It was disappointing to see the counter broken down, it was more to see it left unfixed. As I said before, the die is cast. These software products are just redundant in the present times, at least for me. Fifty bucks go a long way to waste.

Seriously? There was no condescending attitude to my questions. I asked serious questions and emphasized key words to usher that gravity along. Your choice of "people" and "assume" created that condescending phrase. Second, Treyarch deliberately abandoned this site maintenance and concentrated on sales of extra content. They figured, dollars were more important then users community. Typical mistake, nonetheless the one with long a range ramifications. Third, in the present economic situation, with less and less money to go around, it makes me wonder, whether there is some redundancy in the computer games themselves. The answer is unequivocal, "Yes". Money spent for gas and groceries is more important that a piece of entertainment software. So, in the long run, the intentional disconnect between games, requiring users to start from scratch, is a deciding factor for me not to purchase MW3. Time, is just too precious, and if the Company planners didn't care to continue the forums history, then it's just too bad for them.

So, let me get this straight. Our points and ranks are actually worth diddly squat under the new MW3 forum layout. I just signed in and got no points transfer and no rank. Correct me if I am wrong here.
