Re: Let's be real. Are you compensating for something with your Stats? Namely, K/D?

So get over yourself you nerd

Good job preaching to speak to others how you would like to be spoken to. So, you prefer people to purposely misspell your name and name call? Ohhhh the IRONY. He clearly didn't post this thread for "help", he posted to whine about a gun that isn't even an issue. The original point remains, if you are having problems dealing with an average gun at best, the problem isn't the gun, it's YOU.

On a personal note, did your mother teach you when you can't succeed at something, to make excuses as to why others do? Or is it just easier for you to do so than to actually be good at something? This COD is just like any other, good players are still good, and bad players are still bad. Make any excuse for being terrible that you like. Excuses still won't change the fact that others DO while you just come up with reasons to make yourself feel better.

I ping to a server 200 miles away from me at 17ms. Can ping a server roughly 1000 miles away at under 50ms. However, I never find myself suffering from lag comp when I should be. What I mean by that is, say I'm in a lobby with 4 bars against a few guys with 2-3 bars, I have no issues. But If I'm in a lobby with 2-3 bars against 4 bar players, I have normal lag issues.

It just baffles me how the whole system works, as nothing seems to be explainable. I'm not complaining because overall I have a enjoyable experience, but I can understand others frustration, as it all just seems so inconsistent.

Only advice I can give is what has helped me through the years, and that was testing all of my equipment and assuring I have a Open NAT, a custom DNS setting set to 8.8.8.8 (Google), Wired connection, and never using my connection for anything else when gaming.

But as many of you may know, often times the more you optimize your connection, the more you suffer from lag comp issues. It truly does make no sense.

In a competitive situation on a local low latency network, I would not want to be the guy using the slow TV.

However, in this context, this is not truely lag. Lag is the time between a user believeing they have reacted to something and actually percieving a response to that reaction. In that situation, display latency becomes near irrelevant, due to the timings running concurrently and the TV always 'finishing first'. However, players easily spot and become frustrated with network latency as it introduces a delay considerably longer than that of human perception.

I understand what you are saying regarding it not being true lag. However, it still adds a delay in the time you get to respond to what has already occurred in game. It is very much relevant, even during online play vs. a local low latency network. Here is why. Let's say everyone has a 50ms ping to host (I know everyone never has same ping, but work with me here....), you both have 200ms reaction time, and both of your displays have a input lag of 40ms. This means whatever occurs in the game, you don't get to see until 90ms later, and can't react to that for another 200ms. Now, since we are only talking hardware here, the only way to cut down on that time frame and give yourself more time to react would be to cut the ping to host, or the display input lag.

The input lag (in this case, 40ms) is very much relevant because that is the time it either takes your TV to process and display what is happening or the time it takes your TV to display your input action, or of course a combination of both. In whatever scenario, it adds to your overall reaction time and cutting a significant portion of your input lag can help give you a more enjoyable online gaming experience.
