^^ true dat ^^

I tried to call them a day or two ago and here was my experience:

Call#1 - Representative knows nothing about the existence of the issue, then hangs up on me when he goes to "check with a colleague".

Call#2 - Representative knows nothing about the existence of the issue... after explaining that everyone's leaderboard has been frozen for a week, I am urged to "be patient, this issue usually will resolve itself when the server catches up". When I explain again that this has been going on for more than a week, I am told that I should tweet the dev's to let them know of the problem. Seriously?....

After all that has happened wrong with this game and the support for it, I urge others to join me in not buying Blops II when it comes out. Buying the next title while issues with the last one are ignored is like telling Activision that you are happy being bent over and f*cked in the poop chute. Just wait for Wii U and we will have more of a choice in fps titles/ franchises. It seems to matter how far you throw the C4. If you throw it more than approximately 15-20 yards, it will auto-detonate after a few seconds. If you throw it a shorter distance, it will not auto-detonate. If it's borderline on the distance, I wait a few seconds to pick it up to make sure it's not going to explode. I'm not sure if you'd call it a glitch, but it took me some time to get used to this.

Yeah, my allies always joke about my C4 being "rolled in gunpowder" and more powerful. Truth is, I have been throwing C4 like grenades since Black Ops and I have a couple of tricks that help. First, I use the Wiimote/nunchuk -( from what i've seen, classic controller doesn't allow you to throw them as well). Also, I use concussion grenades. This not only slows my target (keeping them in place for the blast), but I can also tell approximately where the enemy is even if I can't see them based on knowing where I threw the concussion and how loud the "pop" sound is when the enemy gets stunned (there is also an "x" that shows on screen and it's boldness indicates proximity to the concussion). Lastly, I get good, long throws by aiming my reticle high and running as I throw the C4. My longest throws seem to come when I stop running just as I make the throw. It's a kind of catapult effect that can send the C4 50-70 yards in the MW3 world. With all this, I rarely miss getting the "most C4 kills" accolade in any given match.

I love the C4 because it's definitely a closed-casket funeral for the poor sap that wanders into my web and gets concussed. It's amazing how many people get obliterated by it repeatedly and never think to put on blast shield pro. Sitting ducks...

Re: a method of banning, ( just an idea )

If I understand things corrrectly, I think there is a way that some offenders could be banned with a bit of effort. First, two concepts must be considered:

1. The profile is stored in the wii, not on the server (this is why Activision says they cannot ban like on PS3/xBox)

2. The leaderboards are stored on the server (this must be true, because when you check the leaderboards, it downloads to update).

If these two things are true, then a hacked profile stored in a wii must connect to that server-maintained leaderboard system when it goes into online multiplayer (to keep adding to stats as the user plays). Still with me?...

If all of this is true, then it should be possible for dev's to go through the leaderboards and identify some of the people who are obviously hacking/ modding/ boosting based on unreal scores, time played, arrows and wii-motes in profile names, etc... and flag those leaderboard profiles.

Now, this part would actually take some effort from the dev's (good luck), but it seems feasible they should be able to design some method where a flagged leaderboard entry could not be connected with the hacked profile based inside the wii which is logging onto multiplayer and trying to get back into the server to keep adding to stats. This would basically create a roadblock for online play for those hacked profiles. The hacker would have to start a new profile to get online and connect to the server/ leaderboard system.

This all may sound complicated, but it is really quite a simple concept. If the hacked profile has to connect to the leaderboard, and they can tell who's not legit on the leaderboard, then there must be a way to stop that connection.

I admit that it wouldn't be a 100% way to stop the hackers, but it would be a start, and it would send a message. Sadly, I think that if I have thought of this, then the dev's certainly have and do not care to expend the effort.

Remember the scene in Star Wars IV "A New Hope" when Obi Wan Kenobi is teaching Luke Skywalker how to use a lightsaber? He talks about how a lightsaber is an elegant weapon compared to the clumsiness of a blaster. This is the way I look at the use of FMG9's by fellow players. I basically cannot respect them as much as a skilled player, even though I do respect their right to use them. They just haven't "learned the ways of the force" yet.

In the end, developing a skilled, respectable style of combat is really all that legit players have to look forward to in this game. That way there would be at least some incentive to play straight.

While I don't know all the technical realities of this, it seems like it would be possible.

I don't play in lobbies with certain clans that I have seen hacking, even if they are on my team. KrYpT, (INK), (U&V), s~t, (UBV) ... just to name a few of the worst nutless offenders. Also, when I am sure that someone is hacking in a match, I quit. I don't "rage quit" because I don't let it get me mad. I just quit hoping that I am the host and that the game will end on them. I wish everyone would do this because these idiots don't deserve to play a full game.

In your case, I would have left the lobby when I noticed a KrYpT member in it.

Aside from all the grammar nonsense that this thread turned into, I would like to add a bit of info about the headsets, which is what the original post was about.

Yes, the headsets are cheaply built and fail easily. However, I have found that the manufacturer (PDP - Performance Designed Products) is very good about replacing them.

They do come with a 2 year warranty, and given that they started to sell them when Blops came out, every headset is within that 2 year warranty period now. If your headset doesn't work and you did not damage it (water, dog ate it, etc...) I would urge you to contact PDP to possibly have yours replaced.

When I called to report my 2 broken headsets, their customer service was great. They asked me what was wrong with it. I told them that I couldn't hear others and they can't hear me. They gave me an address to ship my broken headsets to (it costed 2$ + change), and about 12 days later, I received new, sealed-in-box MW3 edition headsets to replace my broken ones.

PDP - (800) 331-3844

I hope this helps... Also, the more of them that they must replace, the more incentive they have to come up with a better, more rugged design.

p.s. As always, be nice to the customer service guy or girl. It's not his/ her fault, and they are the one that can give you the "sweet hookups".
