      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:4bc540e8-50d5-42bb-8498-a01bb6c281f3] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt;The problem for me in Black Ops was that the LMG'S had very few advantages over the AR's in almost any given situation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Possible solutions, some may be a bit radical and some over the top, but it might well spark a discussion where a decent compromise is reached.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1. More ammo in the clip, M60 aside, the ammo capacity in BOps was far too small, Stoner63 i'm looking at you!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2. Deployable bipods, when deployed recoil is halfed, a rather obvious one.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3. Have specific 'LMG nests' built into your map design, overlooking the B flag on domination for example, yet still far enough away to making shooting people off of the objective a challenge, i.e far enough away to make it 'out of range' of a sub for example. (combine with No.2 listed above)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4. Award XP and score points for 'suppresive fire', if you provide supressive fire whilst your team caps an objective then you get a reward.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;5. Have it so the guy sporting the LMG can resupply small ammounts of ammo or grenades to teammates, and award them XP for doing so.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;6. Give them a damage buff against aircraft, make them a viable alternative to the anti-air missile.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'll leave it there for now, some ideas listed above are a bit radical and a new approach for COD, but the LMG class needs something quite unique to make them stand out from the crowd, having subtle differences between LMG's and AR's does'nt really work.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Give some feedback on the above, and add your own ideas, if we get a decent response i might make a list in the OP.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyEnd:4bc540e8-50d5-42bb-8498-a01bb6c281f3] --&gt;</description>

Let's try and understand this issue further.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The community definition:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now we are not game developers so we tend to gereralise when we describe these issues we see in game. Framerate drops, rubber banding, less that accurate killcams, and poor hit registration to name a few all tend to all get grouped together, we call this grouping 'Lag'.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We then say to the Treyarch team 'this game lags please fix it'. That's like me bringing my pet to the vet surgery and saying 'my pet's sick fix him up please'&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now if i gave symptoms and and brief description of what exactly is wrong with my pet it is likely that the vet will be able to do their job far more efficiently and effectively, see what i'm getting at??&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Vahn himself stated this in a thread i read a while back and it makes sense, so i'll do my best to explain further.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now onto the topic at hand, we'll start with framerate drops.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Typically the only time i notice this is when a napalm strike drops in and sometimes after a successfull host migration, both appear to fix themselves within a minute or so of the game running.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's a problem, but for me it's not game breaking, just a tad annoying at times.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Rubber banding: A very rare occurence in my oppinion, typically the only time i have seen this is where the host of the game is dropping large ammounts of information i.e. everyone but the host is showing a 1 bar ping.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Killcams: Typical symptoms are watching a killcam that is either not accurate with what happened from my perspective or it being out of sync with what happened on my screen.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now this next part is a question i guess, we've always been told that 'killcams are not an accurate representation', why is this so??&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now i'm not a game developer so my understanding is somewhat limited but as i understand it, killcam information is taken from the host's perspective, all desicisions i.e. who shot who first etc. are calculated my the server(host of the game), the host then sends that info to me so i can generate the killcam, therefore why is it not accurate??&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Poor hit registration: A problem that has plagued Treyarch games past and present(IMO). Typically symptoms include: Me shooting some dude where on my screen my crosshairs/ironsights are on target yet i don't get a hitmarker.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Headshots not being recognised as such.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Shots not registering on anyone running/walking perpendicular to my line of sight(very common)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;An in game example of these issues taken just last night from a couple of games include a point blank shot from the Olympia yielding just a hitmarker and not a kill, and four hitmarkers on the same guy using an M14(cross map WDM), statistically is that second example even possible?? I mean if i hit someone in the toe four times at max range how many shot's is it to kill using the M14, i was always lead to believe it was a 'two shot kill at any range'&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Possible solutions: Just a few ideas i thing might help.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Host selection is your starting point, if i'm sitting in a lobby with a friend that has a solid fiber connection with oodles of bandwidth there is no reason why he shoud'nt be given host, so many times we have had to put up with unstable host's being picked when clearly there are better options available.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I presume the aim-assist is server based, i believe it should be client side based, again this is tied into the issues above but when i aim at someone i want to be helped to aim at where they are on my screen and not where the host deems them to be. (first thing i noticed when i played Black Ops for the first time, was it client side based in previous COD's??)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Crucial decisions like who shot who first could be calculated client side, then timestamped and sent onto the host?? The number one rule as far as i'm concerned is that a player should not have to die due to something that's not his fault, i and many others can accept being out played or out flanked by the enemy but losing a gunfight due to lag grinds my gears.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Weapon balance would be a lot easier for you guys if the bullets i put on target registers as being on target, this was especially apparent when using guns like the M14 and Olympia, not having good shots register whilst using those guns is a death sentence.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Also closely related is the in-consistency with the shotguns, i have many times shot someone at point blank range only to get a hitmarker and adversly i have got one shot kills from 30ft away, we need consistency, please sort it out.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;2.Killstreaks&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I like the way they were set out in Black Ops, although i think having a killstreak that has the potential to spawn kill repetadly has no place in the game, chopper gunners and similar killstreaks have the ability to rack up an silly ammount of kills, greater effort needs to be applied to balance them, being spawn killed by a chopper gunner 10 times in a row is not fun, and no player no matter how good or bad they are deserves this.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you are going to integrate pointstreaks such as the support streak you need to find a way to balance it better, having them not reset upon death leads to spam, although in theory i like the idea of rewarding flag cappers in this mannor.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;3. Scoring/scoreboard/SPM&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Black Ops has it almost perfect, at the end of a game i want to know how much i helped the team through flag caps/defends and this was a great addition to the series, please bring it back.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Would it be possible to show your SPM at the end of every game as well, if your're lacking space then take out assists and show kills, deaths, caps, defends, SPM.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;4.Maps&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Again Black Ops had it right, great map design, with MW3 everything it far far too cluttered, too many vehicles left lying around, too many boxes, crates, bits of paper flying around, keep it like Black Ops, keep it simple.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As an example i was playing Resistance the other day (MW3) and i was shooting someone whilst backtracking, but i got 'stuck' on a lampost, crap like that does'nt add anything to the game, it just annoys the gamer.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Maze like maps like there is in MW3 is a big no no, some buildings should be accessable but don't put 3 million different buildings with 37 different windows/doors in it, it adds nothing to the game or the game play, if i'm walking down a flank route i don't always want it to feel like someone is always watching me. That setup only encouranges camping.(camping has a part in the game too, in moderation though)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;5. COD points/XP&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Again a great addition, the balance was perfect, i never fealt like i had too many or too few COD points to spend, bring it back.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;6. Perks.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The number one complain was balancing Ghost, when most of your team in a Domination game is using it there's something wrong.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;things like jugg suits and ballastic vests that give you increased health have no place in COD in any way, shape or form, not as a perk or as a killstreak.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;7.Game sound.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I understand you wanted to take away the ability to 'soundwhore' in Black Ops but i think you nerfed it too much, the balance lies somewhere between Black Ops and W@W, also in game sounds such as the silos on Silo! and the train on WMD are simply annoying.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;8.Sniper rifle balance.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The way it was towards the end of Black Ops was a reasonable compromise, i still don't think the random bullet travel is fair(it still exists), but the magic wobble we saw at the games release was quite frankly stupid. keep it the same as Black Ops towards the end of it's yearly cycle.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;9.
