This sort of garbage has been happening for several weeks (maybe even months) now. It's a server problem... if you are positive you enlisted in the first place, generally you should compete in the challenge regardless of what it says.

We shouldn't have to clear our cache every time we want to login to our Elite account. We appreciate you being on here trying to help but the fact is that Elite is a broken service and your team as a whole needs to get it's **** together and fix it.

The way it was originally advertised was that if you had an Elite subscription, you would get all subsequent DLC free of charge while your subscription was active. Along the line, some genius decided that instead of incorporating Elite into all future games as a single service, they were going to rework it and make Elite 2.0 for Black Ops 2. Subscriptions to Call of Duty Elite are not even available anymore, because they didn't want people purchasing the service with the impression that they would get DLC from both games. A Call of Duty Elite subscription entitles you to Modern Warfare 3 DLC and that is all.

As for how Elite 2.0 is going to work with Black Ops II and if our Elite subscriptions are going to carry over into Elite 2.0, that remains to be announced. We were told that there would be more information last month (September), but we are nearly a week into October and still nothing has been mentioned. I am under the impression that Elite 2.0 is going to be a completely different service and will require a completely different subscription. Essentially I anticipate the same service, just for a different game. In other words, a complete waste of money.

This whole garbage about 75% of the community plays core therefore 75% of the clan ops should be core is fallacious. Just because most people play core doesn't mean most ops should be core. Haven't you ever heard of weighted grades? A test score might be worth 30% of your grade (the majoirty), but does that means 30% of your workload is that one test? No.

DiseaseDefect makes a good point about Elite subscriptions. Hardcore players paid the same amount for Elite that babycore players did, so why do we get the shaft when it comes to competitions? For every babycore op there should be a hardcore version as well.

While I am fully in support of more "benefits" for the hardcore side of things, making all clan ops both babycore and hardcore is not a viable option, especially not for TDM... there is no respawn time in babycore matches, thus score limits are reached much more quickly, ie players rack up many more kills in a shorter amount of time, so the results would be skewed in favor of those who play babycore instead of hardcore.

There is a difference between "updating" a website and completely ruining it. You're analogy with Facebook is fallacious and invalid--Facebook does in fact add new features and generally tries to improve how you navigate the site while making things more convenient (with the news feed showing relevant posts first). This Elite "update" did not add any new features, it did not make the site easier to move through (some things have even been completely removed such as the Showcase, which the only way to get to it now is to click on a recently won badge). The old Elite site was better in every way. Those in the IT industry like to call a site like this... FUBAR.

Earlier today the Rampage challenge for this week was available, I was even able to check my clan's progress, but it has since disappeared. Who knows what the heck is going, I doubt even Beachhead does.

I have 22 gold guns. I know how challenges and gun exp work. The exp from the Marksman and Veteran challenges did not go towards my gun. Those, plus the red dot challenge should have been 25,000 exp, more than a quarter of the required amount for 30-31. But my bar is not even close to being a quarter full.

Broken shotgun challenges?

In my course of getting all golden guns I am now on the shotguns... I have already gotten the USAS and the KSG golden, now I am working on the AA12. I have just finished the Marksman VII and Veteran I challenges (both are "Get 500 kills with this weapon", both award 10,000 exp) but that experience was not accredited to my gun. And I also did the Red Dot Sight challenge, which should have garnered another 5000 exp, but my exp bar for my gun is barely past the P, not nearly the 1/3 of the way it should be after completing these challenges. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also I'm curious to know why Marksman VIII challenges for most shotguns is 1000 kills, but for the USAS and the Model 1887, Marksman V is 2500 kills. This doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

As far as I'm aware there isn't. The only thing you can do is give someone you trust your login info for Elite and let them manage from your account.

I did this the entire way to completing both of the overkill challenges (tier 6) and ended up with 1660 bullets. It's not that effective.

The best thing to do is stand in front of sentry guns, but even then it is going to take a long, long time.

My favorites are the .44 magnum and the PP99... the magnum is much more powerful but you only get six shots. Do some experimenting and see for yourself which ones you like.

Supposedly they are working on it, but if you look around the forums a bit you'll notice virtually everyone else is experiencing the same problem. Only time will tell.
