Re: what your k/d ratio

Playing with a tight clan helps keep my KD ratio high. I have two accounts. One for running solo. One for clan games. I have little interest in KD ratios except directly after a game because that's usually where we evaluate/chat about how we played in the game. It doesn't mean anything but I like to feel that I've represented and it's a good indicator. In the long term it means nothing.

I also find Hardcore SnD, which I love, severely lowers my KD ratio, but just jump into TDM for a couple of games levels it off again.

Oh and know when a game is very laggy. Not that you're just having a bad game. But bad lag. If so quit. In every other COD I would never suggest or do such a thing. But in Bl-ops that lag can get crippling. The game is no longer ejoyable. You'll get more and more angry, and subsequently your game will suffer.

People even complain about Ghost because of campers. Well I find it funny how everybody complains about campers and yet when I'm playing TDM I am surounded by LOTS of campers (75%). Everybody seems to camp. Maybe not in a bush. But in a room, in a corridor, or behind a car etc.
So either this is that last bastion for the none camper or some of you are lying.

Re: Is Ghost an un-skillful perk or not?

Don't rely on the radar. What does un-skillful perk even mean? No skill is needed in pressing the button to choose it.
I'm guessing people hate it because they've been killed by somebody camping with Ghost on. Firstly: We all know by now the danger zones for campers. Usually they aren't that imaginative in their camping spots. So just be more careful. Less running more scanning. Secondly: So what, respawn, go back and kill them.
On some maps I'll want to run and gun so I'll choose Flak/Slight of hand/Marathon. But on maps that need more caution I'll choose Ghost/Slight of hand/Hacker. All my guns have silencers except for when experiencing bad lag I'll use rapid-fire (I find it balances it up a little better.)

Re: Is there freaking hacking going on???

I just don't get it. What's the point? I'd just get bored. What keeps me going back for more in COD is the challange. And as each game is different the challange is always changing. That just looks pointless. I kind of feel sorry for them.

I experience plenty of odd moments. Like being shot across the map by a gun using its iron-sights. In the killcam I can't even see myself. But I'm also aware that some players are about two feet from their televisions. I've chatted to mates about how we all occasionally have a wierd ESP. I've spun around, instictively pulled up my sight and fired. It happens in a split second. On a couple of occasions I've 'luckily' had a headshot. Now if I was watching that back I'd be shouting cheat.
People also send messages calling me a cheat/hacker when I run, quickly aim and kill them as they hide in a corner/bush/etc. But I have to tell them that they're not original by camping there because that's where everybody camps.

I'm not saying there aren't hackers but sometimes there's an explanation.

I like no shotgun akimbo.
I like not being knifed from half a mile away.
I like it when playing HC that I'm not noobed two seconds into a game from a teammate who thinks it funny to try and kill his whole team.
I like that noobtubing is eliminated by wearing a flackjacket.
I like almost all the guns except shotguns.
I like the blackbird.
I like the interactivity of some of the maps.

I could go on, there is so much to like about this game. And that's the kicker. Because it could be a great game. But, and it's a big but, the things that I don't like are game breakers. And straight in at number one: LAG. It'll never get fixed so I'm not even going to bother to moan about it.

I'm not hear to maon just ask for a couple of tweeks if possible:

* In Hardcore mode is it possible for you to increase the damage taken before death by a single shot or something.
At present it is way too easy to kill. I played COD4 HC SnD pretty much exclusively and it had a good balance. It needed skill to kill. Recently my L1 buttone broke and while my second controller charged I thought I'd have a knock-about without aiming. My kills and scores didn't drop. That can't be right!
I jumps from core to hardcore depending what mates I'm playing with and I find it laughable when I watch so many players in Hardcore that I can't help thinking would get their ars3s handed to them in core. Some I'm unsure even know how to aim. I just think that by making it a little harder (just a little while still being HC) to kill it would encourage more skillfull players (I know shocker, encourage skillfull players).

*Could you have a little consistancy regarding the information the game's voice relays. For example sometimes it tells me they have a spy-plane in the air, sometimes not. It's just the consistancy that bothers me. Either always tell me or never tell me. Or is this a Perk+ that I'm unaware of?

*Throwing a flashbang into a room I don't get a hitmarker even if somebody is in the room. Has this been changed? I do get a hitmarker if there's a peice of equipment in there. As somebody who uses flashbangs in order to enter a room and clear it of campers (mostly sat in the corner) the lack of hitmarker is annoying.

*Okay this is a wierd one. But it happens a LOT. Again in HC I will fire two or three shots at somebody and then they'll fire. Guess who dies? Me. In a killcam if this happens at the end of the game I'll see me fire after I've recieved my kill shot but still alive. In core I often get to see myself firing a couple of shots even after I'm dead. Why is this?

*I can NEVER join a friend/s when they are in a game. Even if the game isn't full. They have to leave the game and I then join them in the lobby. My NAT Type jumps about from Open to Strict. It doesn't matter which it is. Fixing this would be great.

I agree about Core. Sure there's going to be some guy on in a bit telling you to man up or just get better or to stop whining (it's their sorry argument for everything). As somebody who plays HC I find that in Core the lag is felt the hardest. It's also true that you have to adjust your game anyway.
I have to agree, but while some people might be confident with anything technical, my girlfriend hasn't a clue. She wouldn't want to play around with portforwarding incase it messes anything else up. She wouldn't know what a port was, I installed her whole network, she'd have to start at the beginning. All this for one game!!!
Oh as to the OP, I know this might sound dumb, but if it had been Open but now Strict again, have you tried turning your router-off then on again lol.

The point is he shouldn't have to mess around with his systems just for this game. People buy consoles rather than PCs so they don't have to do anything but plug in and play. Some people are simply not technically minded which is fine. If he had an XBOX then he wouldn't have to make phonecalls to his IP, look on youtube to see how to portforward, why should he because he has a PS3?
Activision haven't really apologised for all the troubles we've had. Then they sell their map pack at an expensive price when compared to other DLC.

It is hands down the worste console game I've ever played in terms of glitches,frame-rate issues and regular crashes in need of hard resets (Far worse than BO). Granted Brink might be better. But don't spout stuff about COD catering to XBOX when NV was a port from the XBOX. Oh and at least 3arch for all their faults have tried hard to get this game back on track for the PS3, (whether they can actually get it done completely I don't know) but Bethesda gave a weak wristed attempt (it still glitches/crashes) and that's a fail in my opinion.
The game does look good though. But I wouldn't buy it straight out of the gate. Give it a month or two, let it settle down, get some feedback.

Then if it's still happeing to you maybe you should think about investing in a better internet connection.
However if this is about you not wanting easy-kill players to leave games you're dominating then you should put your ego in check.

Re: Ideas for next cod

I'd like to see:

* Maps dedicated to game types, ie SnD, Dom etc.
* Ideally a map dsigner. Much prefer that to Theatremode.
* An overhaul of the Killstreak reward system. Liked the idea of money, but then you lose the lot once prestige, wtf. Why didn't they try and expand the concept? You get paid for kills, obejectives complete, defending, saving team members, revenge kills etc. They then go towards in game bonuses. (Oh no looks like Homefront have already done that. It's called dropping the ball, Activision.)
* An overhaul of the Ranking system (so bored now of ranking up, prestiging, ranking up, etc.). I like the idea that I can rank up in multiple of class types. As I rank up I get rewards that suit only that class. So you can only get a Ghost-like perk through sniping.
* You are given a maximum carrying weight and you can fill up to that maximum any way you wish. So if I want to carry four grenades but no claymores/flashbangs/secondary gun (this would be madness granted) I can. Also if I'm a sniper I don't want grenades or flashbangs but wouldn't mind a couple more clayemores.
Your weight determins your speed. So no marathon or lightweight perk. If you want to run fast just carry a pistol (nothing else). But carrying the maximum will slow you down significantly. RPGs, rocket launchers, etc weigh a lot.
* A knife kill is only a straight kill if done from behind.
* New game types. Or some sort of game-type designer. I'm sure I'm not the only person with a few ideas for different game-types. The maps are standard but the paramiters of a new kind of game-type can be implemented.
* If possible bring in games dedicated to the people who like QS, Commando, akimbo shotguns etc. Why? So they don't moan, and try equally dreary attempts at ruining our games.
* While I hate campers that sit in their spawn on objective based games I'm not a big fan of every position being accesible from multiple of eccess points. I like having to think and work at trying to kill a well dug in sniper. (This might be just me.)
* Bring back the red lazers for claymores and dump flakjacket (or in my weight based system make flakjackets very heavey and cumbersome. As something that stops a RPG blowing your head off would.)
* Currently in objective based games claymores remain in the game. Maybe once the owner of the claymore has died another team member can pick up that claymore and move it. The original owner still gets the points if it makes a kill but sometimes it could be used better to help the team.

I leave games if my old lady needs something.

Does this mean that I should be locked out of the game? F**king Idiot!

^^^ Totally agree.
I personally don't care that much if a host leaves because they're doing really bad. Mostly I feel sorry for them. Especially a low ranked player. I've been there when you're dying every other second and getting no kills and thinking what's the f*cking point. Previously I'd send a message and suggest working together, but the messaging system is so slow now I can't be bothered.
I do however get irritated when it's an entire clan that gets up and leave. You know it has nothing to do with connection it's that they're just not very good and aren't willing to try harder.
