Think of it as aim-assist on steroids for people that have bad connections. We all know that being host gives you an advantage. That is why "lag compensation" was made to counter host advantage. This is the basics of how it works leaving out most of the technical parts. When 2 players engage each other, the game checks their pings. If one player has a higher ping than the other then "lag compensation" kicks in. "Lag compensation" will try to predict the input commands of the player that has high ping and do them for him. Now when I say it predicts commands, I am talking about nano seconds after you hit a button or move the joy-stick, "lag compensation" will take over. An example of this is; you see in the kill cam that the player misses his shots but is still hitting you. That would be "lag compensation." The game knows he is trying to shoot at you, so it logs hit-markers saying he is shooting you when in fact he is missing completely cause of lag.

I kinda wish there was a bi-pod attachment. And the way it works is every time you go prone your recoil will automatically be reduced. Also to balance it out when prone you have a limited angle of range. Plus It would take you longer to go prone and to get back up. Or you could let the user deploy it at will by making it the left D-pad button. When your prone press it to use it.

Yea kill cams and theater mode are not exact recordings due to the fact that what you see on your console is not what the enemy sees on his console. To make matters even more confusing, what you and the enemy see, may be different from what the server sees and registers.
From what I heard about kill cams, they are not recordings at all because that would put too much stress on the servers. Basically what happens is the game tries to keeps track of what happens such as what you did, what buttons you pressed and more for you and those around you. Kinda like a list of all the events. Then when you watch a kill cam or a match in theater mode, what you are seeing is the A.I. replicating all the events that happened.

That is why you see someone missing but still getting hit markers and how kill cams and theater mode sometimes show weird mistakes.

A Ninjakitty wrote:

Alucard103 wrote:

QSing means you are firing your weapon before scoped in so you are NOT AIMING, you are just pointing at their general direction and hoping he dies.

Isn't that what everyone does? I point my AR or SMG at a guy and pull the trigger, hope he dies?

Anyway, you need to brush up on your game mechanics. Quickscoping isn't about luck any more than using an Assault Rifle or SMG. You fire your weapon as you can see through the scope (at a guy that's in the very middle of your screen) and the bullet goes straight. No scoping is luck, you can't control random hipfire on any gun. But those are 2 completely different things.

I hate how people act so negatively towards snipers and have all of these stupid reasons for it... and they don't even realize the foundation of their argument is flawed. All of the "Aim Assist" "Luck" "Overpowered" stuff is complete BS. Quickscoping is aiming fast with a sniper rifle. Just like Aiming fast with an Assault Rifle... is just aiming fast with an Assault Rifle.

If aiming fast is cheap/an exploit/overpowered then Treyarch needs to nerf me right now because I do it with all sorts of guns.

Wow.... are you serious.... NO......

When you use ANY weapon PROPERLY, you are AIMING down the sights AT the person. You are able to see where your bullets will go which will ALWAYS be exactly where the sights are pointing. QSing has a luck factor because you are pointing the gun in his GENERAL DIRECTION and do NOT know where the bullet will go. When you QS you NEVER see the crosshairs of the scope. If you do see the crosshairs that is called "hardscoping" (aka sniping)

I can use a sniper effectively with out the need to qs. Snipers are not meant for close or medium range engagements, they are meant for long to full map range battles. Nor does being able to qs mean you are quick and accurate at aiming. QS takes advantage of the games bullet magnetism that all fps games have. And its sticky aim and the fact that snipers are the only weapon that can kill in one hit regardless of the range fired.

QS is not needed in the game and never was, it was always a gimick game play style that was abused by players who thought it made them look cool or awesome or special or talented to be able to do it and then put it up on some video site like youtube to brag about how good and cool they are. That is why all QS players claim and defend its need that it takes skill and fast responses. when it does not, anyone can learn to do it, and you dont even have to be fast or accurate to do it effectively not even in BO.

I only ever have to qs when an enemy player rushes me while I am sniping at other players at distance. I dont run with a sniper out and try to put myself in such situations like most qs players do. when moving from location to location I use my side arm that is what it is for. And that is why scout pro is one of the first pro perks I usually get each prestige.

So no QS is not needed in the game to be an effective or efficent sniper. That is just a QS defense and a poor one at best.

Ugh. Why do we do this to ourselves? I don't think you can be good at sniping without QSing because I have never, ever in my years of playing CoD seen one good sniper that couldn't do it. You think you can been good at sniping without QSing because from your personal experience it has been effective. We're never, ever going to agree, so why do we argue in threads like this? lol

Dude what the F*** are you saying??? A sniper NEVER has a need to QS and a sniper NEVER needs to be able to QS.

QS means you can be accurate while sniping?!?!?! Where the heck did you get that from?!?!?! Do you even know what QSing is? QSing and "hardscoping" (aka sniping) are 2 DIFFERENT skills. QSing means you are firing your weapon before scoped in so you are NOT AIMING, you are just pointing at their general direction and hoping he dies.

The reason you never have to do this is because the moment you move more then 4 feet you pull out your SECONDARY!!! That's what it is for!!!!

Now after that being said, I hate quickscopers. I do NOT hate quickscopers because its fake or any dumb reason like that. But because quickscoping gives the false notion that a sniper can run and gun with the rest. Which increases the amount of noob-snipers on my team.

Now I understand that some players are good at quick scoping so more power to them, but chances are most people get stuck with the players that suck at it.

Oh and for the record I only snipe when I am playing with my friends who back me up. I use the L96 with Hardline, Harden, and second chance all Pro. If I move more then 5 feet I take out my CZ75 with extended mags and try picking up a weapon any chance I get. I do not rush like a noob, I do not sit in one spot being useless. I am the eyes of my team. I keep track of them at all times as well as enemy locations. I also use the Full map that you see when paused to guide and support my friends who are very good at killing. We play team tactical every chance we get and we win 95% of the time.

That is what it means to snipe, not qickscoping.

LOL, reading my old post brings back memories haha. But sadly LMGs in this game are still out classed by ARs. I have many games where I go 15+ kills and less then 3 deaths. But this game is dominated by low recoil spay and pray guns, so I always feel at a disadvantage with it. Also on top of everything the M60 has a dmg reduction at range. WHY?!?!?!?! Its like they gave me the one thing I wanted in this game then kicked me in the balls after I got it.

Most of the time you get to that by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. What you would be doing is setting your xbox's IP in the DMZ of your router. Routers are different most of the time so you would have to Google how to do that on yours. Oh and to find your IP look in the setting of the dashboard under network. The IP would be 192.168.1.X the "X" would be the number you see. This should fix your problem.

It would be amazing if this game forces you to pace your shots like you should. Instead of spraying across the map and getting longshot kills. And for the record I am an LMG user. With the recoil on those guns I am used to pacing my shots at long range, unlike the low recoil of ARs.

The 74 seems to be the choice for many players because with the extended mag and grip it's weapon that has a fast ADS, great mobility and the ability to mow down 2-3 people with well placed shots, and you can still get a kill with it if you have bullet lag. Also, (again just my opinion) it seems to be the best SMG for taking long shots, with the set up I mentioned. I can pick off a sniper with it with a little patience and some luck. Whereas with a MAC-11 or a Skorpion I gotta hold perfectly still and massage the trigger and hope I can center enough rounds before the sniper/camper returns fire.

It's certainly not, in my opinion, the best SMG for CQC. I get mowed down a lot by people using shottys or the SMGs with a higher rate of fire (which is most of them) as long as they have good aim.

In my opinion (I say that a lot because of the trolls) it's a decent cross between your average SMG and your average AR. Which makes it a very good Run-N-Gun weapon. Not great for corner campers because the rate of fire won't drop someone fast enough, and not enough range for long-range campers, but it's pretty beastly for Run-N-Gun.

I completely agree with you. I love the AK74u. I used to be an LMG user until I used the 74u. My loadout for the 74u is called "Gun Runner" haha And I also noticed that I lose most spray battles against the Famas(point blank encounters)

I used to snipe in MW2 but I never QS. If I was gonna more I would pull out my trusty Akimbo Beretta which can kill anything in my way. So why do people try to do it???? Is it because if you are caught with your sniper out you have no chance? I think if you are caught with your sniper out, you should die.

As a sniper I use my equipment to tell me when enemies are near.(claymore or motion sensor.) If I know enemies can get past those things, I will always check who is around me and if someone is getting behind me.(check surroundings.) If I am gonna relocate. I would always switch to my secondary or try to pick up a different gun.

That is how I snipe, so as far as I see QS has no place in there and is useless to me.
