Re: Dashboarding Is Killing this game.

dashboarders technically already have their "deranking" because whatever XP they've earn't during the game or challenges completed aren't counted, so effectively they have to earn the xp/challenges again.

I've calmed my dashboarding down a fair bit, it used to be 4 or 5 times a night, when I knew I was the host.... For all those crybabies that think dashboarders do it to protect stats, i'd agree that a lot of them are for that reason (personally i'd rather keep the XP/Headshots/Challenges these days..) but there is a flaw.. I'm an average player, 1.45 KD at the moment. Hardly worth "protecting" and i've never cared about KD - it's all about levelling up and challenges for me and sacrifice whatever i've earnt whenever I do dashboard. However from a gameplay point of view, I have to see just how bad the lag is when hosting (and I pull host a lot, mainly to players outside the UK, which is just awful)

My threshold is this... I'll take random 10 deaths in a row, or about 5 in a row if i'm getting silly amounts of hitmarkers only to be one shotted with an SMG in core with no red screen - a regular occurence for me when i'm hosting.

The last time I dashboarded was a follows (just to give context just how bad hosting is)

Hydro - pretty poor map in my opinion, but i'll play it... Went 52 and 19 in HC KC - was not host..

Hydro voted in again next map, went 0 and 9 as the host before I thought screw this, shot round corners, through concrete walls and so on..

If i'm host and winning gun fights, then i'll stay regardless of score, because some games that you host, you do actually seem to be balanced with others players connections - that's the tipper for me, if you don't win gun fights where you're firing first and directly on them as a host, but lose gun fights constantly then the game should and will end because i'm at an unfair disadvantage,

If i'm not the host, i'll stay in the lobby because I know my 0 and 9 for example is purely down to me being slow/bad whatever. If i'm the host, then sorry the game will end out of protest at Treyarchs abismal matchmaking (as said, putting players hundreds of miles away in my lobby) I'll take all the probation they want, it's not a detterant.

And on a final side note - if you penalise hosts any more than they are already, people with good internet/ping rates will just stop playing the game - so you think lag is bad now, just wait til you get a host who has a 2 bar LOL. But that's where CoD is heading, so yanno. Whatever!

Apart from the appalling lag compensation coding, the bigger issue is matchmaking - and just how broken it is.

I'm rarely put into a lobby (even with search settings set at best) where everyone in the lobby is from the same country as me, the UK. So I end up playing with people hundreds and hundreds of miles away from me, so of course there's going to be lag even with a super low ping like mine, which is 7-11ms. whilst poor matchmaking like this continues nothing will change, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's just the same for American's, they'll throw you into lobbies where people are hundreds and hundreds of miles away from you.

I can see why they do it, I mean, people in these countries where there are less people who own the game would barely find a lobby if matchmaking was country specific.

However this conspiracy about something coded in to the game to balance everybody out (I forget what it's called, but the jist of it was that you could go on a 9-10 killstreak say, and then go on a 7-8 death streak) I actually believe is in there too,

Bottom line is, we all have to suffer. This game has me raging more than any other - so much so, that I will not be buying another Call of Duty made by Treyarch as they do seem to be the worse of 2 evils. Sure my £80 won't dent there profits in the slightest, thats not the issue, I'll just take my money elsewhere! I don't enjoy CoD nowhere near as much as I did back in the "good ol days" I popped MW2 back in the other day, and with the 2 modders in the game and the Tryhard trickshot players from the gutter in there, went 30 and 4 on free for all, and ended up with 2 "1v1 me" messages

My games in core would be lucky to get maybe 4 or 5 more kills that deaths. I play hardcore now and my scores reflect the potential I knew I had in me! lol

There's bad times on hardcore, sure, the one shot instakill from nowhere, and no idea where it came from because there's no radar or killcam. But mostly, it runs fine - good hit detection, guns work how they're supposed to...

It's almost like core is the harder game to play, but in reality the only thing making it difficult are the 9-10 shitmarkers you give, only to be oneshotted due to lag and great (sarcasm) matchmaking.

However I do have a second thought, and again I'm pretty sure I'm right with this... Notice how the only game modes available on hardcore aren't "Spawn trappable" game modes. Personally I think HC objective based game types would suck because of spawn trapping. It's frustrating enough in core, let alone your health being minimum and no radar.

The only mode i'd like to see added is HC FFA.

Obviously because no game developer is responsible for your internet connection. The only thing they can fix is matchmaking, so that you're put in lobbies with players with similar connection/ping to you..

However, the 4 people in countries like Germany, Netherlands, France and Italy that own this game kicked up a stink that they weren't getting into any lobbies, so treyarch thought it would be a good (slow hand clap) idea to match them with people hundreds of miles away in lobbies from the UK or Asia lol - and then everyone wonders why lag increases.

Unfortunately there's nothing we can do to change this so, you have to like it and lump it and carry on.

Issues such as ridiculously poor matchmaking basically mean that all the hard work Treyarch and other game developers put into stats, actually makes stats irrelevant and meaningless - I mean, if your KD is negative because you were constantly put into lobbies where you were put on the losing team with swarms and dogs flying about - how is taking 15 instant deaths, and a loss an accurate representation of your stats/gameplay?

For there is no YOUR game, it is their game too. You can just leave the lobby if it upsets you so much becuase you are taking the stats too serious or it would not matter what they do in the game.

- Correct me if i'm wrong, but are boosters not the people caring about their stats more? Surely the urge to rank up quick, and have a completely false high KD supercedes any of your comments about legitimate players caring for their stats. The biggest stat on the game "master prestige" is all a booster is caring about, so your arguement is flawed and invalid.

Also modders, hackers and boosters do ruin games - otherwise people wouldn't complain about them - and there wouldn't be a "REPORT BOOSTERS/CHEATERS" option not only on the game, but on XBOX dashboard itself lol - again, your arguement is flawed which makes your opinion invalid.

The rich get richer whilst the poor stay poor..

In other words, bad players won't get the top killstreaks and only get the low ones, which if you're lucky will get you a kill or 2, whilst the top end killstreaks, designed for the better players to hit, will give you 10-20 each if used correctly.. So this game is effectively designed for pro players, and not designed for bad players..

There needs to be a big shake up of killstreak rewards, and yeah I agree, fewer would be better.. Hell, maybe even a restriction on usage of them, so that pro players don't just end up running riot, potentially causing dashboarding, or regular host migrations, as well as empty lobbies which fill up with players fighting a massively negative game. For example if they do have a mega killstreak reward likie a chopper gunner or whatever, then it can only be called in once per player per round, so all this stuff in domination where some pro tryhard gets 3 chopper gunners, or 3 attack dogs wouldn't exist, because they'd be limited to calling in their top killstreak once per round

I'd actually seperate scorestreaks and killstreaks... So like Score streaks count towards Support - such as UAV, CUAV, VSAT, Guardian, EMP and so on, whereas killstreak rewards are just that - rewards earned from kills (which Don't stack from other rewards, so you have to get them using guns/knifes) This I feel would make the game a lot more balanced, in particular there'd be more overpowered killstreaks which get you 20 extra kills, there'd probably be an attack helicopter, a harrier. a stealth bomber, care package, RCXD, and a Sentry Gun, thats it... but meh who's gonna listen... or even agree.

*Edited - more stuff added

This isn't BO2's fault. MW2, everyone ran Marathon, Stopping Power and Ninja (some ran sleight of hand or scavenger in perk 1 instead).

BO1 EVERYBODY ran Ghost Pro, with Sleight of Hand, then MW3 everyone ran Blind Eye, Assassin Pro, with Dead Silence (until Sitrep was patched) or Steady Aim

You only found 2 guns being used in MW2 - Silenced UMP's or Interventions, BO1 everyone either used the Famas or AK74u, in MW3 everyone used the PP90M1 or the MP7 with the MP9 or Akimbo FMG9 as secondary...

Every game, everybody will find a class that does well and is strong,...
