Patches not working in Call of Duty: World At War

I recently installed CODWAW and did the whole "patch update" thing. I uninstalled it when i beat it, but it didn't uninstall the patches right, because when i reinstalled the game later to try other difficulties, all the patch installers say the same thing...."Setup has detected that patch xx is already installed, would you like to uninstall them?"......i try to click yes, and it jumps straight to finish...so then i re-run the installers and it does the same thing......but everytime i run CODWAW it still says 1.0.872 ?

whats with all the error messages.

Hello, Activision, Infinity ward, Treyarch, also fellow cod gamers for all systeams

Today i was looking threw my games for xbox 360 and came across my cod4 also cod world at war and decided to jump on some multiplayer and well everyone pretty much knows this the game is hacked like crazy people jumping over bulidings in the map messages poping up on my screen so i decided to jump on the discussion on call of duty.com and brought a idea to the table can we the cod gamers get an update to the old cod games we loved so much for multiplayer just an update to get rid of all the hacking going on i am asking u the makers of cod Infinity ward , Treyarch also Activision if u could help us out with this. i know you guys might be busy with the makeing of black ops2 and the next IW game that will be comeing out but can u please help us out even a little. i really dont want to see cod 4 and world at war get hacked to the ground.

So it has been a few days since i played MW3 and i jumped on this morning prompted with an update. Log in to profile and such, just to notice i have a warning that i no longer have the piazza-n-newer map packs. So i go into my harddrive and all is still saved, but not accesed on the game. Was this because of the update or did something happen when i was gone. Some one please let me know WTF i deleted my copies and re-DL the supposed missing packs but come on.

Modern Warfare 2 Security Update (All Platforms)

Update: The Modern Warfare 2 patch was successful in eliminating much of the ability of hackers, however we have identified other areas that were vulnerable and have added additional security enhancements to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the patch. We plan to re-patch the Playstation 3 version as well with these additional updates.

Now that we have these patches on the road to release (out of production) we are looking at how we can further improve the situation on legacy titles such as Call of Duty 4. The first such move will be to update the playlists for Call of Duty 4 to allow access to all game modes regardless of rank.

Original Post:

The latest patch for Modern Warfare 2 has finished. This new title update will address security issues that have affected online play.

We plan to release this update for all platforms (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC).

Release Date for Playstation 3 (worldwide): March 8th

Release Date for Xbox 360: May 9th

Release Date for PC: TBD

In addition to the security updates, this patch will also address a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map.

Memorial Weekend Updates - Double XP & Updates

To celebrate Memorial Day weekend, we've turned on Double XP for all platforms worldwide. Double XP will remain on through the Holiday (here in the US) which means all weekend and all-day Monday!

In addition, we just released a few updates via playlist. No game mode changes, just addressing recent exploits.

On PC:
Eliminated a hack which prevents player movement.

On PS3 & Xbox 360:
Eliminated a hack which gave players Tactical Nukes in a Care Package.

Double XP Ends, 1st Person Team Tactical Returns - April 5th

Today, on Xbox Live only, we'll be ending the Double XP week. In addition, we'll be introducing First Person Team Tactical playlist to Modern Warfare 2.

PS3 and PC won't receive these updates yet, but will receive them when they have their DLC launch and Double XP week.

If youâ€™re an Xbox Live player on Modern Warfare 2, there are some big updates hitting tomorrow (March 30th) in the early morning. Included in those are:

The Stimulus Package (Downloadable Content)

The first dlc for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer hits exclusively first on Xbox Live. Itâ€™ll be coming to other platforms at a later date as well, but tomorrow morning youâ€™ll be able to download the 5 new maps including Bailout, Salvage, Storm, and my favorite classic maps Crash and Overgrown.

Double XP

Originally planned to do it this weekend, but weâ€™ve decided to throw the Double XP switch early when the new maps hit. So jump online with the new DLC and check out the two new DLC specific playlists.

Stimulus and Hardcore Stimulus Playlists

These two playlists are 100% dedicated to the new maps, and are Double XP enabled. So jump on and experienced the new DLC you downloaded, get double XP, and experience all your favorite gametypes along with some hardcore variants of them.

Ranger maps added to HCHQ

Weâ€™re adding a few maps to the Hardcore Headquarters Pro playlist on Xbox Live, allowing you now play all the Ranger maps in this gametype, something I know a lot of users have been asking for!

Title Update

Along side the DLC, but something ALL of our users will get, is a title update for Modern Warfare 2. Included in this update is support for the DLC (if you choose to purchase it), as well as some tweaks to the One Man Army perk, some matchmaking updates that will help our international users find more locally hosted games thanks to how ping is now sorted, and various other code updates that will help improve the overall quality of multiplayer on Modern Warfare 2.

There is no exact time you can expect all this, Iâ€™d say early morning when traffic is at its lowest, but by the time you wake up and get online Iâ€™m sure it will be available to most of you on March 30th! See you online all this week!

"Super Speed" Fix Coming - Xbox Live (March 22nd)

Hey Guys -

Thanks for the reports regarding "Super Speed" games in MW2 that popped up over the weekend.

We've updated the playlist to include a fix to prevent this from happening. The updated playlist may take up to an hour to prop to everyone.

You don't need to download an update, this is not a patch, it will simply update the next time you connect to multiplayer. If you're currently playing multiplayer, then when you restart, or back out to main menu and reload multiplayer, it will download the new gameplay settings.

Care Package Patch (and other fixes)

We've updated the PS3 & Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 2, including the following fixes:

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for "infinite care package" exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Fixes to prevent various XP hacks (including the prevention of negative XP)

Note to PS3 Player: The PS3 still needs to receive one additional fix, regarding the infinite care package exploit which is going out today (Feb 16th 2010). EU Players should be receiving it first, with Sony NA going out later.

Latest PC Patch

We've updated the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, including the following fixes:

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for "infinite care package" exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and 'elevators'.
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
- Fixes to prevent various texture (PC-ONLY) and XP hacks.

These fixes, excluding the ones I've labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it's because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.

Playlist Update: Prevention for "Chopper Gunner Ammo" Hack

You may notice a playlist update today on Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3. This update adds preventative measures that restrict a recent "Chopper Gunner ammo for all weapons" hack from spreading into public matchmaking.

We'll continue to monitor and work to keep games as cheating free and fair as possible.

This specific hack isn't on PC, however banning cheaters via VAC on PC is a continual effort and focus of ours nonetheless.

Includes: 1887s Balanced. Public "private" Match fix. Infinite Ammo fix. Prestige Hack on PS3 fix. Texture Hack on PC fix (eliminates any edits to IWD files also).
