New to Off Topic? Our unofficial forum etiquette guide

Forum etiquette means maintaining a standard of posting behavior that is acceptable and appropriate. Forum etiquette can be flexible, according to the subject of the forum, but there are certain standards most people expect others to maintain. Some lines must be drawn for the safety of all posting on the forum.

One of the staunchest rules of forum etiquette is not double posting. When double posting does occur a kitteth sacrifice must be offered up to Evil Eskimo. Or to Evil_Eskimo

Search Button? Use it. If you don't know how start a thread asking how it works.

Never start a 3 word story thread or for that matter any â€˜game thread in OT. This is probably the most serious breach of forum etiquette and most trolls take it very seriously.

You can disagree with someone's opinions, calling that person an idiot or a noob name is acceptable forum etiquette. Hijacking a failed thread or changing the tread topic to â€œWhatâ€™s for lunchâ€ is never the wrong thing to do.

Posting favorite war movie threads over and over again d is also a flaming offense.

Gras, friends of Gras, are not allowed to use their real flag. WHY? idk it's just a tradition. Others aare welcome to follow, or not.

Trolls are always in flagrant violation of forum etiquette and enjoy disturbing the peace at any forum where they post. Trolls tend to spam, call names, gossip about other posters, post things that are deliberately provocative and usually that violate the forum's rules about posting... hahahhahha lololol just kidding.

One word posts- including â€˜lolâ€™ are automatic fail. Not kidding.

Ideas for the next COD

It seems a new title is pumped out every year and IMO I like the Modern Warfare theme (MW - MW2 - B-Ops), but what would you like to see in the next title ?

Here are a couple quick thoughts:

1. More interaction with the map. Like....
- Opening and closing doors
- C4 (or other high explosive) may blow open a wall or collapse a small building
- Some really dark locations that require NVG's
- Something like Jungle (Black OPS map) with a deeper stream and you can hold your breath for a limited time
- Maybe Urban Environment, with other people (non-player characters) hiding and running for cover.... of course there is a penalty for shooting them. But it might slow down those with itchy trigger fingers.... like in HC.
- What about the ability to "Play Dead" or After killing an enemy.... you put on their Uniform and look like an enemy ?
- Some locations you can rappel down (or up) buildings and enter through windows, normally unreachable ?
- Perhaps one or two really BIG maps, that either forces you to use Tac Insert or is intended for almost solely Sniper Rifle use.

2. Theme..... hmmmmm,
- Maybe something like Aliens with Space Marines; really dark foreign location... like another planet? (Not another Halo, but a little more futuristic)
- Perhaps based on S.E.A.L. or other Anti-Terrorist Combat
- Maybe like S.W.A.T., a more urban combat.... Law Enforcement on a drug bust
- (This one is a stretch) Imagine a mix of games rolled into one. I like the stealthy missions like in Splinter Cell, maybe the ability to walk amongst other civilians in disguise, like Assassins Creed 2 Brotherhood..... you don't know who your enemy is until they make their move. Tons of possibilities here.... I don't know how far "We" COD fans would want to stray away from open combat.

3. Mission / Game Ideas... like Single player missions meet Multiplayer, team vs team
- Like in Halo.... VIP game mode... where you have to protect the VIP from the assaulting team or free hostages.
- Large Scale War .... where there are NPC's running around, tanks, other combat vehicles, etc..

Ok, I wrote enough......... lets hear your ideas ?

New addition to thread thanks to SnakeDoctor.

Tâ€™was the night before Christmas, and all through the land
No creatures were stirring, not even - Gras Clan.
The threads were posted in Off Topic with care,
In hopes that noobs, soon would post there.

The Gras Clan were nestled all snug in their bunks,
With visions of Jinxâ€™s Sister and junk in her trunk.
Evil at the Beer cannon, and Reaper in chaps,
Had just tried to post pics, of LOLZ cats.

When out on the trawler there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bunk to see what was the matter.

Cheap beer and ham sandwiches on the deck below

There on the oceanâ€¦ on waves in a rowâ€¦
sailed a miniature trawler, and eight tiny trolls.

With a little old driver, as bald as a rock,
I knew in a moment it must be Snake Doc.
More rapid than fish his minions they came,

Since no one has answered any of my questions and instead everybody decided to argue I have now changed the titile of the thread to better suit the comments of this thread

Edit: I have changed the title because it seems all people are doing is arguing with each other.

Who is Snakedoctor57 and why is he always mean to me? On almost every thread I have ever made, Snakedoctor57 is always there to bash my threads and make rude comments. He acts as though he owns the off topic section. Why is he alway mean?

we come upon a scene, a view of a bank of computers in a room. a tangle of wires is seen coming out of this, and they stop short of a port in the wall with internet written above this. a screen is on one of the towers and it is marked as "SoyBot." continuously flashing on the screen is the words, "input error, does not compute"

a whine of motors high in pitch can be heard coming from all the computer towers, as if they are working in overload mode. a skeleton is holding the wires in one hand, as if reaching to plug the wires into the wall port, the other hand is clutching its chest as though groping for something. next to the skeleton is a sign written in blood. on the sign plainly seen by all, is written one single word as if a warning.

the word that is written is, "EviL"
