PROTOTYPE TWO .. WTF HAPPENED ??

I was a huge fan of prototype 1 definitly one of the best console games ever released. Imagine my disappointment when this bunch of ass prototype two was released. What a bunch of rubbish. Upgrade system is completely pointless. 25% less damage. or 25% more health. Whats the difference?? Non-the-less i decided to finish it and max out those pointless and unchallenging radnet / blacknet pages. So as to get all the achievements. Got to pretty much the end of the game. Unlocked the alex mercer skin. And oh wait.. all my story line missions disappeared. yip no icons on the map any more. two achievements still to go for the last two mission points in the game. Nice one. Not only is your game a huge pice of ass but its also a buggy piece of ass.

Activision needs to close.

Really, it's for the good of the gaming market. This company has consistently failed to produce quality games, and the very few times they find something original or playable, they decide to cancel it and shut down the developer. Blur didn't have much of a chance. Prototype seems like it has now ended. GH was decent until they watered that down to nothing. I heard rumors they passed on Brutal and Ghostbusters, both games which turned out rather well. Is Activision resistant to innovation, originality, or even retaining respect?

Knowing how poorly this company treats devs I buy their games used. They'll shut them down regardless so my money goes to the game store instead. I discourage anyone I can from buying games from this publisher and look down on anyone lacking the intelligence to avoid them. There are zero good games coming from this place, the management has absolutely no brains or clues, and as a long time gamer I'm tired of seeing the market get dragged backwards by so many utterly stupid decisions. I know I'm not the only one and the crowd is growing. Gamers have to wise up sometime. You can only copy and paste a game so many times before it sinks like a rock. I eagerly wait for that day when the blockhead in charge ends up broke.

Is Radical Entertainment still working on Prototype series?

Radical Entertainment - One of the oldest games developer studio of Canada has recently being "kicked" out by Activision.

So my question is:

"Is Radical Entertainment still working on Prototype series?"

I am a fan of this game series , [Prototype2] has not let me down after a years of waiting and exciting .

Really like the game , at first I was very disappointed because we can't play as Alex Mercer , but after finished it , I think Radical makes a good choice when they change the main character because if you still play as Mercer , you will have to "unlock" your power again? , and even that , you can still unlock the legend Alex Mercer skin with Radnet DLC. But if Heller has more awesome power than Mercer , that would be more awesome. And I really like the new feature , Pack Leader , If Radical still working on with Prototype series , I hope they will make this feature more diverse (like customize your pets...blah blah)...

I really really like this game series ,and my point is: I want Radical back , give them a chance , they've made for you a glorious victory with the first Prototype (even it's not your huge cow to "milking" like CoD : Black Ops II) .

Please say "WE WANT RADICAL BACK" if you people are agreed with me!

Radical Entertainment in Prototype2

http://i49.servimg.com/u/f49/17/59/14/05/radica10.jpg

Discovered by me , PrototypeFans

Prototype 2 PC Memory Leak (please release patch)

After this because I have a CPU RAM meter on desktop I can see that the RAM is at 99% and this happens everytime I play it. Hopefully you can release a patch to address the issue as I've been searching around and found that others are having the same problem.

My system is:

Win7 Ult x64 (fully updated sp1)

athlon II x3

4gb ddr3 1333

HD4890 1gb (latest driver catalyst 12.6)

I looked at the log crash file that Dr Watson created and it was basic and plain but I also took the crash dumb file and analyzed the crash. What I found was understandable to why this game crashed. I will not post the entire error log nor the entire crash dumb log because that is really pointless. I will however post the most important areas.

In the log of the crash this part is important.

Application exception occurred:

That function or that call what ever it maybe could even be a method or variable or whatever is what is causing this error.

Now here is why. Again this is from the crash dump.

STACK_TEXT:

WARNING: Stack unwind information not available. Following frames may be wrong.

1839f688 1099a827 1839f6c8 1773f9d0 1839f6c8 prototype2engine!EngineInitialize+0x2b8bb1

1839f748 1839f7a8 1773f9d0 0000001a 00000000 prototype2engine!EngineInitialize+0x2b3957

00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 0x1839f7a8

Now to be most honest any real programmer can see something is wrong here including me.

I am assuming that the EngineInitialize function or sub route or what ever it is is used to initialize the engine or dll or what not. The issue is simple.

This is trying to run twice back to back which if I am correct when its ran once its already initialized yet nothing is sent to that dll to say hey buddy its already done so fall back on this or whatever thus causing the prototype2engine.dll file to become unstable thus causing The error that we all have seen ever sence this game was released.

So with my understanding somewhat of this type of error I am assuming two things here. 1 that function that is trying to run twice cant or needs to be ran only one time or it does not check first if its already ran. 2 It is trying to access the codes from written memory yet there is no codes to access.

Trust me I will cause this game to error 40 times today and sit and study the codes and I will come back and once again display each and every code.

For those that do read this if your crash logs look the same then study them and perhaps we can help activision do their job lol or hell perhaps we can do their job for them and make them look bad.

Are you guy's trying to fix the over all problem with prototype 2 or are you guy's are just going to say oh well to us consumer's? I mean honestly I would love to enjoy the game but with this issue it is making it hard. This is also telling me that perhaps in the future I will not want to buy any more games from you guy's. So if you could at least give us consumers a update on this that would be helpful.

The "game-breaking" glitch in Prototype 2 that Activision won't necessarily acknowledge

What exactly causes the glitch hasn't really been discovered by any community as far as I know, but what it does is pretty much the same for lots of people. The glitch appears after you complete a storyline mission, when it removes the starting location of your next storyline mission. There is no way point, no icon, no shiny area that you can travel to on your own to start the mission. What does this mean? If you can't start the next storyline mission then you cannot complete the game. Regarding the complete lack of location, Activision states "Many of the missions will not tell you where to go. This allows you to explore the world and find new missions to activate." on their Customer Support website https://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Completing-a-Mission-Does-Not- Activate-a-New-Mission/?q=mission+will+not+start&l=en_US&c=Game_Title%3APrototyp e_2&fs=Search&pn=1

I do not recall one instance where the storyline mission lacked a definitive starting point that was viewable on the map. The website then recommends

If you still cannot activate a new mission after you have explored the world of Prototype 2 , tryclearing your cache and reloading your last save.

REGARDING THE CLEARING OF YOUR PROTOTYPE 2 CACHE

  - Although clearing the cache will not delete your save files, it will remove all other files. This includes the files required for RADNET access as well as any DLC that you have purchased for the game. Before clearing your cache, check to make sure that the original downloads for RADNET and any DLC you had are still located in your Download history for either Xbox Live or PS3. I do not know where they would be located on Xbox Live, but on PS3 you can look under your Playstation Account Settings, and the list will be under one of the options available to you. I recommend checking this because once you delete the cache, the codes you once used to gain access to RADNET and any DLCs are invalid because they are one-time use codes.

The only option available that would allow you to continue playing the main storyline is to reload a save file of the game that was prior to the existence of the mission glitch. Otherwise, as far as I know, you have to start the game over.

Although highly doubtful, if any Activision employee sees this post, I contacted Activisions Customer Support via telephone at approximately 5:50PM EST and spoke with a representative named Matthew. I asked him to send me a survey in order to say that he did an excellent job, and I am still waiting for the email. Even though my problem hasn't been resolved, it is not because of Matthew. He has my thanks for explaining every possible option available to me regarding how I could go about resolving this glitch, and did his job as an employee.

Activision, as a company, does not have my thanks. The "solution" you offer your customers doesn't fix, remove, repair, or do anything to the actual glitch. It just reverts the game to a previous save file where the glitch did not exist. This means it is highly possible for it to show up again. I understand that the nature of games creates glitches, but rather than passing your method off as an actual solution, I would rather have you acknowledge that it is a glitch, and you cannot currently fix it. And perhaps say you might even, someday in the future, at some point etc etc decide to fix it.

I initially tried contacting Radical Entertainment but their website explicitly said all customer support issues should be brought to Activision. Well, here is my issue. Will you acknowledge it?

Massive Prototype 2 Memory Leak Crash !!!

I am sure this forum will get read by someone any one but anyways. It is true that this game has a memory leak. I am here typing this to calmly but firmly ask that activision the company that created the game or well the company that at this time owns the rights for the game to fix this memory issue. See I was playing the game just fine free roaming and what not and all of a sudden the game crashed to a video crash wow. I have tried to play this game many times and I even have beat the game. For the most part the game runs great and it is a bad ass game but the lack of programming and the lack of testing tells me you guy's released this game to early. I have found many many issues that should be fixed. 1 when changing the actual res in game why does it change your desktop res I mean really ? I can load up other games and change the res size and it never messes with my desktop settings lmao. The second one is this memory leak issue. It is really starting to annoy me. I mean really how can you even come close to have any enjoyment from this game if every 15 or so minutes its going to crash on you? I would say its my pc but in all honesty right now its not. Like I said the game runs smooth but due to this memory leak it crashes unless i alt tab to my desktop and wait but again why would any one want to do that after 10 minutes each time ? Activision I know you fired the deve team for this game and thats fine but can you at least try to have someone anyone fix the issues with this game? Btw if any one on here reads this and have managed to find a real working fix out side of all the other so called temp fixes then please let me know. One last thing activision due to this issue with this game you really have got some real bad angry customers perhaps thats why you got rid of the deve team for this game after all ?
